    Audacity alternatives?

double holy s. I just split up my wave transients and dragged them and snapped them into place where i want, then adjusted also, and changed the tempo and rendered the wave at the new tempo. Looks like Reaper is doing it all for me, and looped easy and wheel on mouse for stretch and shift and...

what type of drumset to get?

i got a kit on consignment from a drum store for only about 4 or $450, it had everylast thing. and i didn't haggle, i just pointed out stuff that wasn't solid, so they gave me a brand new, if entry level kik pedal, and same with the seat, the minimum, but ok since i'm not playing for 5 hours at...

    Audacity alternatives?

thanks for the link, looks like some of those may help My Reaper trial ran out before i could use it. i'll look at it again on another machine to see how it is to drag and drop loops/clips, i have my doubts, the DAW software so far on all demos except Ableton weren't made for that like Live...

    New to everything!

well, if you want to spend $99 for a sick deal, you get the Audio Buddy *AND* the mxl-990 and mxl-991. condensor mics you'll eventually like to try and the Audio Buddy has phantom power for them, from what i've read not the best phantom for 2 condensors but enough for one. That deal and a...

The Munsters! - have a listen please

who wrote it? and why does almost every tv theme HAVE to get to major harmony at least once? the transition is always too harsh b/c of the time limitations more good ones are: Melrose place, Jeffersons, my favorite of all time is Streets of Sanfranciso

    New to everything!

you're in the right place. tons of info i got from good people here over the >years< preamp is needed for mics because they aren't line level. line level is what you get out of a cd player or line out or in on the computer. they also sound a little better than the little ones on some low...

    Audacity alternatives?

I like it, sounds good, but need to edit drum loop waves faster and easier. don't like the warp markers in Ableton, screws up the sound but extremely fast and easy. any freeware or under $200 software? FL Studio demo slices loop, but i don't want to turn it into hit samples, just 1 to 16 bar...

    Ride cymbal problem

I tried to make it narrow, but the clang was kinda wide i used a 4-band eq plug-in and i had to use 2 bands! but it was learning, i don't treasure that track, just wanna avoid that crap in the future. i was using a mxl-991 6" from top between bell and edge, pointed away from kit. as an...

    The potential ability of amateurs

if i had any kind of success beyond what i have now and i had the $$$ i certainly wouldn't do my next project myself, you bet i'd be in a commercial studio. at that point i'd have something to loose which i obviously don't now. ;)

    Ride cymbal problem

it was on the ride mic. for now, i just killed all the mids, which gave it an interesting sound and the ride was still there. luckily the snare was a piccolo, so it survived and with a familiar sound but I can't place it yet what i'll have to do is filter it before the drum sub mix, it was a...

    Ride cymbal problem

so i never even noticed this until i combined it with a quieter mix. It has a wobbley clang drone that is Eb and it messes with other stuff, like a keyboard sound, nasty intervals and stuff. if i edit the wave sample, it only gets worse, messing with the wobble and changing the oscillations.

    The potential ability of amateurs

Time is the difference, time and attention, details, care, focus, determination. I always do a much better job on my car than the pros b/c i can spend more time draining more oil out, actually following the procedures in the manual, no shortcuts. yes it will take me 5 hours instead of 30...
