    Help!!? DC Offset/Clicks and Pops.

Hey Sonic, Check the PT website for current drivers - I had the problem with my D66 until I grabbed an updated driver. Good luck. Sorry we didn't get to schmooze at Voxxy's... Daf

    Locking tracks

Are you in SX or VST? Dunno how many features SX retained, but there was a "group tracks" thing in VST 5.0 that seems oriented toward the kind of thing you're describing. IIRC, the tracks retained their autonomy, but actions taken on the group track were applied to all the included tracks...

    acoustic guitar mic trouble... :(

No, but it's often a 57, and a 58 is awful darn close. In fact, there may be no diff at 5 inches pointed at the source, since they're electronically the same, and the main diff is the distance from diaphragm to the screen. Anyone know for sure? Daf

    My Very First Love Song

Dougie is my favorite jangly pop songwriter. Is this the same as the CD, or do I need to download it? Daf

Can´t hear my Midi keyboard on my audio harware

Right now Cubase only has the midi info - so it will either have to be routed to an internal sound source, like a soft synth, or routed to your Triton (which it sounds like you're doing) with the Triton audio out routed to the sound card's audio input, and recorded in Cubase. Daf

Ok, i tried a relatively radically approach mixwise for me

Khompy, I fully understand not wanting to go boom-ta-boom-ta-tat. But ones and threes are almost useless as far as forward motion goes - it's the backbeat that gives it life. If you don't want 2 & 4 either (I was thinking mix them real low), I'd suggest listening intently to some rock /...

Ok, i tried a relatively radically approach mixwise for me

Otay, I guess I'm listening to version 2... Everything is magical and brilliant. But the drums don't work for me. I didn't sense a timing problem, except one spot in the middle, and that may have just been me not understanding what you were up to. If you're measuring milliseconds, ga-ron-tee...

Wanna have some fun at our exes' expense?

Thanks, Scott! Rats & I shoulda done this at voxfest, but time got away from us. I think we'll take a "Home for a Rest" approach and rock it hard, and trade verses, though we may still use the Molly Malone melody - it's such a good'n!!! The melody, I mean. One last verse for good measure...

    Collaboration Legalities

You get what you negotiate. And can document that you negotiated. If you're stuck with undocumented/unaddressed issues and a hostile relationship with a collaborateur, GFL. Fortunately, cave threads are good for documenting the way things transpired. Unfortunately, there're 2 comting things...

    Sound effect question....

SF 6 (that's what you use, right?) has a built-in pitch shift - if there's not a preset for a tape stop, I'd play with it a little - if the range is limited, you can always reapply it a couple of times. Daf

    Using USB drive

I have one (1.1) and it's slow as hell. I use it like I'd use a floppy - to take a file over to another PC. About all it's good for. Fortunately, it's also cheap.

Tips or lessons learned on writing-off/amortizing recording gear

re: 5 years - sorta. The deal is (or was - may have changed) that if you show a loss for the first 3 years, IRS may require you to sign a waiver extending the statute of limitations, to allow the business/not-a-business determination to take place at the 5-year mark --- so that they can...
