Cubase yes. Acid & Sound Forge, no. I'd turn it off for Acid & Sound Forge too if they started having problems.
As long as you're disconnected from the net and not loading new files from floppy or cd/dvd, you should be fine without Norton running. You just want it on (and updated!!!)...
To reset:
With the unit off, Hold down the 00 and 03 buttons, and turn on the unit. Make sure the pitchbend and mod wheels are in normal position!!!
You'll lose all your custom info, but you'll get the original sounds back.
I use a QS-8.1 and love it. SeanMorse79 of this bbs has a 6.1, he...
Hey reg,
I liked your song, but didn't understand it. Wanna explain it?
Daf (knowingly subverting the point of the thread, but I'm just a free-associating kinda guy... )
Pre-1923 is usually safe.
Post-1923 is usually not. At least in the US.
It's not quite that simple, but it's a starting point. Most carols are safe. Most pop tunes aren't.
Oh, and one I've already done the legwork on: Pietro Yon's Gesu Bambino is now public domain.

Insert effects (1) require an instance for each track they're used on, and (2) are applied 100% to the signal, unless there's a balance fader.
Send effects (2) only require a single instance per effect, and (2) are applied in a percentage determined by the send fader. Everything you send there...
I use Sound Forge 6.0, which is very powerful, but does not have the please-please-please-make-my-vocals-stop-sucking plugin yet. Maybe when 8.0 comes out...

Don't know SX, but in Cubase VST 5.x, you could set up an external audio editor - I used Sound Forge, but you could as easily use CEP.
Cubase VST was very counter-intuitive. SX is billed as an improved interface - hope they got it right this time.
Good luck, man. Remember me when you're a...
Not a logic user, but you should be able to convert to 24-bit with their wav editor. They do have one, right?
And are you stuck forever with your current version of Logic? May want to move earlier instead of later...

Soundcard. Absolutely.
You WILL need an impedance converter unless your soundcard has an XLR in - they're only $20 or so.
I have a UB1002, it would really only serve to add noise, IMO. I only use it for monitoring and live sound reinforcement.

57 / 58 = same electronics, different body. 57 is more versatile for recording, and cheaper. 58's better for live vocals, partly due to the recessed capsule. This is less of an advantage in the studio, and actually a disadvantage for things like amp and percussion miking (which the 57 does...
I did the same a couple of years ago - finally had to ditch the SBLive 'cos my consumer apps (and Giga Sampler - go figger) insisted on attaching to it and couldn't find the Delta.
This was under WME - your software and OS might be smarter now. I'd love to get SBLive back - all those...
I got it organized in folders:
HRBBS
.\Keepers
.\HRC4
.\Jamfest
.\Voxfest
I clean out HRBBS regularly (delete or move to Keepers). There are about 10-20 tunes in each. Dialup really cramps my listening...:(
