See if this idea works.....everybody knows mbox has an inferior preamp but the 002 has a very good pre amp, now they are offering a upgrade policy in protools for mbox and 001 users. you can get around $400 off on Digi 002 rack, that means you can get a 002 for around $700-$800, isn't that a...
Considering the case, anything is fine as long as you dont expect overclocking the processor, Dont forget to get the silver compound for yoru processor. Considering fan get something that blows pretty good cubic feet (30) with less noise (less than 25db) In powersupply better to get a Aspire...
It may not be your hardware, I run two computers P4 2.0 and P4 2.8 with 1GB ram, never had any problem, cos I dont install any other software other than music in the dedicated HDD. Try to take out all the extra stuff, especially Microsoft applications. Use all your other than music softwares in...
Why waste all that money on a 266 imac? Even a 1Ghz G4 is struggling in my studio. Anyway you may rather get a better setup for the same price in PC. Good Luck!
Everything looks good............. In the monitors, the Roland has a small woofer and certainly needs a subwoofer, the Behringer is pretty good enough in that 3 choices.
If you are not mainly concerned about quality, just get a mixer, few mics and run the mixer main out into your soundcard line in and now you'll be able to record your band in some software (there are so many choices, so do the homework and find one that you like)
IF you are expecting more...
Thanks for the bus info Moskus, I am just waiting for my current running projects to get over with and then I can start fresh in Sonar3.0. By the way what format the project file and bundle files are stored? not .cwp & .cwb anymore?
I think the problem is in teh software not midiman 4x4. If you can see all 4 midi inputs in CW then it means they work, think your problem is mapping the inputs with the outputs channels to the modules. Did you try mapping them in "OPTIONS" > "INSTRUMENTS" > (block the output channels and map...
ok first of all, if you are using multiple mics there is no use if you get them dowm to 1 channel (mono). The whoel purpose of using more than 1 mic is to capture the sound from different room ambience and you need a stereo (2 channels) to achieve that. Ok lets say you have 5 mics, All you have...
If you are using any of the soundblaster cards, select the recording source to "WHAT YOU HEAR" and set the soundblaster as the recording device in your software (cooledit or cakewalk). Then you should be able to record anything that comes through your speaker.
If you have a usb2.0 integrated motherboard in your computer you are good to go, If not get a USB 2.0 PCI card. For the price of a Mbox you could get some other very good PCI or Firewire interfaces with much more inputs. If you are determined to go with protools, better get the 001.
The main advantage of going with 24bit 96Khz is for DVD audio. Any audio on DVD either stereo, spacial or 5,6,7 channel spacial needs to be in 24bit 96Khz, thats is going to be the future standard for everything, so doing the mixes in that samplerate would let you use your stuff now and in the...
Yes you can use any monitors with any computer, all you need is a $5 adapter from ebay, but be careful, some adapters have resolution restrictions, get the one that goes all the way to higer resolutions.
