    Logic Output Help

Why would you want to monitor through your PC's internal soundcard and some cheap PC speakers? That would be like taking a picture with a really nice Canon L lens and editing it on an old black and white TV.

Optical ins and out for home stereo?

If the DA converters are better in the receiver, go optical, otherwise use the DA converters in the CD player and use the analog outs. Remember, the sound has to be converted to analog SOMEWHERE in the chain. :-)

    Fabulous Fingerstylist: Rick Ruskin

A nice guy too! Back in 2000 he talked to me (on the phone) at length about the Great River MP2 preamp.

    Solved Martin OM35

Check out the OM-21, great bang for the buck if you want a rosewood Martin OM. Also, Larrivee makes some killer OMs, OM03R and OM09 are nice examples of rosewood OMs. if you can streeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch your budget a bit (:-) ), definetly check out a Santa Cruz OM/PW, that guitar is sweet!

    What is a A/D converters.

Not entirely correct, an AD converter would have to be fed a line level signal in order to convert to digital. A mic signal is too low for an A/D converter to do anything useful with.

    3 strings buzz, 3 don't? Acoustic guitar

Ask Kermit the Frog, he'll know :D Seriously, make a mental note of how heavy the humidifier is (soap dish or whatever) is right before you fill it up and again after you fill it up. Check every couple of days. When it starts to feel like its getting empty again, refill. It's a pain...

compiling a list of single guitarist bands

Yes has/had one guitarist during the Steve Howe lineup (I think?). Of course, they had Wakeman on (many) keys, Alan White (or Buford) on drums, and Squire on bass. Jon Anderson did play guitar a bit though, so they might not count. Rush was the first band I thought of, but someone mentioned...

nylon strings on a steel string guitar

Peter Yarrow has played an old Larrivee for many years. It is a steel-string guitar. It is shaped a bit like a classical/nylon, but it is a steel string guitar. That is all... :-)

    Flash Drive with Pro Tools?

It's not the speed of the flash memory that makes it appear slower than your hard drives. It's the USB2 interface which would be "slower" than a firewire interface (or using an internal drive). Theoretically, flash memory (such as your RAM) should be MUCH faster than hard drive memory (one of...

    what cables to use?

Although the 44 has balanced inputs (which would requires TRS cables), chances are your mixer's inserts are unbalanced. So you would use TS cables. For short runs, going unbalanced shouldn't be a problem. Yes, you need to only plug the cable in about 1/2 way into the insert. Good luck!

    Best Recorded song?

Lyle Lovett's "Joshua Judges Ruth" has some great production. I LOVE the intro to "I've been to Memphis"; love cranking that up on a nice sounding stereo :)

    Burning wave files to CD

you must burn the 44.1khz, 16-bit wav files as AUDIO in your burning software. If you are just burning the data files, you won't be able to play it on a CD player.

What if someone already has my "band" name

Anyone remember Mike Rowe? His website was called mikerowesoft.com (or something like that) The worst offender is Monster Cables, they went after someone running a website selling monster (the big scary kind). There are a bunch of other small companies that have NOTHING to do with audio that...
