You don't have a chance of learning much of anything on the 505 without a manual. I'd spring for the $8 manual if I were you.

I've used the roll and gun before at a software store. It shouldn't take you more than about 10 seconds a piece once you get going.

What do you mean by "direct out to the board"? A mixer? If it's a new keyboard there should be no noise. Have you tried different amps or speakers?

Synth vs. controller + module is 6 in one 1/2 dozen in the other. Pretty much the same thing although for that price you might be able to get a controller with more control features than say a pk6... Then you just have to decide which modules you want. In the best bang for the buck category...

You can get them at just about any pro gear shop or lots of places on the net. There normally $5-$20 per piece depending on how big.

Berhinger is right up there with alesis... Spend a few more bucks and get a mackie, or better yet soundcraft.

By 2 and 3 I mean if you point a mic at the speakers the sound is coming out of you will get feedback. So try to postion the speakers and/or mic so that the mic will never point towards them. And not an amp... A preamp. One of those things you plug a mic into before the signal goes to the amp...

Or you can use gaffers tape.... But don't write on your gear!
