    mc-505 man

You don't have a chance of learning much of anything on the 505 without a manual. I'd spring for the $8 manual if I were you.

    DIY shrinkwrap

I've used the roll and gun before at a software store. It shouldn't take you more than about 10 seconds a piece once you get going.

What do you mean by "direct out to the board"? A mixer? If it's a new keyboard there should be no noise. Have you tried different amps or speakers?

    Controller + Module Question

Synth vs. controller + module is 6 in one 1/2 dozen in the other. Pretty much the same thing although for that price you might be able to get a controller with more control features than say a pk6... Then you just have to decide which modules you want. In the best bang for the buck category...

    E-mu Pk-6

It never listed for $1300. The highest I've seen them was $699. It's OK I guess... I wasn't that impressed with it though. It's baically just a proteus with a keyboard. I have a proteus and the sounds are pretty nice, but that keyboard just seems kind of shitty to me. I'd go somewhere and try...

You've probably heard this many times...feedback probs

By 2 and 3 I mean if you point a mic at the speakers the sound is coming out of you will get feedback. So try to postion the speakers and/or mic so that the mic will never point towards them. And not an amp... A preamp. One of those things you plug a mic into before the signal goes to the amp...

Yeah, I have one around here somewhere... But I can't remember the name of it. I got it at walmart for about $30.
