    Recording audio from youtube?

There are plugins for browsers which rip the audio or video off of almost any site. I seem the remember the ones available for firefox to be particularly easy and effective.

    Behringer MINIAMP AMP800

I use one of these for multiple headphone users, everyone gets their own volume control and you can connect additional equip to feed individual inputs fir each channel, plus there are a whole load of extra outputs on the rear of the unit. Works well no distortion or tainting of the audio. Tim

    Really need help

Your post does not make it particularly clear exactly what equip is to be connected so I'll make a broad reply. If you have active monitors with XLR inputs and you want to connect a power amp, taking an output from the amplified speaker outputs on the amp will have a detrimental effect on the...

Zoom user collaborating with Korg user

You should have no problems swapping Wav files between those two recorders, they will both handle the regular bit rates for Wav's. The only time you'll have an issue is if you save files on a pc which are at rates which the spec of one machine other won't handle. Tim

    let me see your studio!

Just updating my studio pic here, it's kinda grown as a hobby over a year or so......but it's a great way to while away the hours. I have spare room through the door, vocal booth and whatever else I find the need for coming next.

    bass amp

Stretch the budget and have a go at one of these, surprisingly large sound for the rated output. And it'll stay in one piece and not end up as a self igniting barbecue. Orange crush pix 100. They can easily daisy chain if you need more a long the way. Not much by way of gimmicks, but good for...

    "INCOMPLETE" by Icystorm completed

Well, I was all excited to hear this, feverishly powering up the monitors and fumbling with the knobs only to find that it's gone.......... Too late to the party I guess, typical I get a day off and time but I've missed it. All the best Joseph, maybe I'll catch the tune at some point...

Any thoughts on this acoustic mix?

Maybe track the backing vocals yourself? The guitar lacks articulation, more so in places. I would have like to have heard the low mids coming through a bit more too. I'm not sure if the delay on the vocal is needed, it doesn't want to be too dry, maybe just some reverb. It's not a bad track...

    composition without band

I put my tracks together working alone and find that the method which works for me is as follows. I get an idea of roughly what tempo I want to work in, then get a drum track sorted which is functional but not over complex. I then decide what kind of mood I'm in with regards to choosing chord...

Why Do Ear Buds Sound So Good?

The sound you get from buds differs because you have your ear canals plugged by them, which means the sound vibrations from the speaker surfaces have a push pull effect on your ear drum which more closely follows the driver than other configurations. Headphones which have their speakers...

    Someone who wants to listen?

Sounds like you have a good set of pipes, certainly worth you getting a decent recording done as the one you have here is likely to take out the drivers in someone's monitors with the high distortion peaks. The vocal tone is pleasant and will likely deliver well when you get something done...

opinnions on a Line 6 spider IV?

I use tube amps and I think the above statement is a mild generalisation because most of the time I use my tube amps in conjunction with a Digitech GSP1101 Rack unit which can do its job without taking over proceedings, plus I have the option of using a physical vintage cab or taking a DI out...

    Boss br600 help importing

It's most likely the file format MP3, you'll most likely need to make a copy of the file and save it as a wave. Also check to see in the spec what the file handling parameter of the Boss is, so you don't go creating a wave that it won't run. 16 bit Wav is the most likely format for that piece of...

Ok, more time on my hands at last. Joseph, I think you've made a pretty good job with crafting the lyrics. My only sticking point is "flora and thorns" Probably just my over analytical brain, it seems a bit like saying flowers and roses. A collective and a singular contextually implying they are...

What's the purpose of this forum?

To be fair I think there is a big clue in the name "Singing & Vocals" if taken literally. It would seem that many who post here are looking for opinions/advice on their singing and vocal performances. That's how it comes across to me and if I personally wanted to get some feedback on that...

zoom r16 should you buy it?

In answer to your question, No. Buy the R24 because in the long run it makes sense. It'll take you weeks to work out how everything works and then you'll realise what a great piece of kit it is for the money. I have two R24's linked and have been using that recorder for 16 months very solidly...

opinnions on a Line 6 spider IV?

I'm pretty sure it's a 75 and I also appreciate that the sound of an amp is fairly subjective as we all have a varying taste for sound. The guy I teach is not technically minded and yes I can dial in some reasonable sounds but never really get what I personally consider to be a good clean tone...
