    Revisiting old songs - Fools

I listened to the original and mix 3 and i prefer the original. When i listened to the original i was impressed in the enunciation of the vocal and was thinking you can't sing much faster than that...then i listened to the mix 3 and it just sounds unnaturally fast. The drum track also i prefer...

    Too much bass?!

Listening to Open Road-i think everything sounds fine, good singing and guitar tone/ playing. The bass isn't too loud to me-but i think you need to automate the vocal to stay on top when more instrumentation comes in. The vocals go from easily understood to can't hear what the words are. Other...

Crop Circles with Nick and Dave

Sounds great-love the laid back groove and lush sounds mixed with things that are right up close (drums). I like the verb or delay on the vocals, performance is solid. All instruments sound clear and good tones. Sounds like more woooooom on the bass on this track, no problem picking up the bass...

    Spanish Wings

Well this song was revived from a few pages back somehow, thanks Bulls Hit, Chili, Nola, rayc, jimistone, and ashcat_lt for listening. The first mix like i said was run through landr, i was excited to hear such a loud and clear mix, but it also did some things i didn't like-making the electric...

    Tots: Surfboard (new wave/punk)

I like the feel alot, sounds like a band playing which isn't as simple as it sounds. The high end seems hyped to me, the guitars sound harsh at times. I like the sound of the vocals, but they could be more clear-words are hard to make out. I'd like to hear the pre-mastered mix...Some sound pops...

    T. L. G.

Sounds great, real solid guitar playing and nice sound-it's really jumping out of the speaker. The vibraphone-i love the sound but many of the hits sound random, the first time the guitar drops and lets the vibes do a run they sound very unsure. I think some verb on them would be nice-they sound...

    Green Maverick

Thank you Robus, Brutish, Triple M, Xeries, VomitHatSteve, Philosophy and Johnny Amato for taking the time to listen. I've had the Maverick in the shop for the last few days and had some work done: 1-replaced left front fender (guitar)-i played much lighter during the singing to try and give...

    New (oldish) tune - "Undone"

Nice sound, nice song. I like the rhythm section sound, the drums and midi! bass lay down a nice groove. Great vocal track, nice melody, reminds me of Stone Temple Pilots a bit, hate to say things like that, but i figure if i think it others might. I think i would listen to your song given the...

    My Friend Ben

Nice-makes a strong impact when the guitars kick in-really excellent. I like the guitar sounds alot, drums sound good and solid playing. I don't think the bass is too loud at all. Good vocal sounds-clear and up front nice tight harmonies. Mix is loud but not harsh, covers the spectrum well to my...

New Song - West Texas Girl

Sounds great. Has a vibrant energy coming through. Nice guitar tone and riff. Sounds like the snare is really taking up a lot of space, like its infringing on the guitars a bit. I would try and center the snare-as in narrowing it's stereo width if that makes sense, not sure how the drums were...

    Green Maverick

New Song thing-Just layed down the tracks and did a quick mix/master. Let me know if you find this sonically insulting. I'm going for a low-fi 70's kind of vibe for sure. Instead of real drums I played the midi kit into addictive drums using their dry kit. I could put real drums on this but i...

    March

Nice big drum sound real? VI? perfect snare sound for the track.. I like the verb-mix is pretty big in the bottom in general-sounds like a lot of sub 100hz stuff going on. I can hear that this should be thick sounding but i think you could roll out some super lows without hurting the mix too...

The Way That You Move [Rock]

Nice-I notice the clarity in the vocals right away-they sound more natural and exciting. Everything else sounds great to me-if i had to nitpick i would say that cymbal bashing around the 2:30 mark is pretty annoying and distracts from the vocal, sounds like the same volume of hit from the big...

The Way That You Move [Rock]

Nice sound, cool riff. Nice big bass sound-drums sound kind of dull-a little more swish of the hi hats might make it rock harder? Snare is a bit buried...The vocals to me have an unnatural mid bump or something-maybe it's distortion?-they seem to be missing some air ? I'd be interested to know...

Island Hopping with Nick and Dave

Nice sounds-i like the seperation and "silence" between the instruments. Trying to figure out if there's keys? or some kind of effected guitar? I really like those high plinky sounds-they really add a jazzy sound to the song and give it a unique mood. Mix sounds fine-maybe a little tame in the...

    Turning around

I like the guitar patterns-the way you go from chords to those machine like single notes. Whoah interesting change, i like the way the song evolves-very cool. Good sounds-the drums sound kind of lifeless, but at least there's some arrangement to them. Vocals sound nice and sit in the mix well-i...

    Spanish Wings

Thanks to anyone who listened-Your observations are correct as usual, the mix is sloppy for sure but i think it has a good vibe from being done quickly and simply. Vocals need a re-do and then the endless twiddling will begin. The bass sound is a sans amp bass driver, highly recomended.

    Spanish Wings

Recorded over the last 24 hours. Continuing from my last posted song, i had made contact with a guy i knew 30 years ago who writes lyrics-he gave me these lyrics to work on and the whole tune came together quickly, just finished guitars today. As far as the mix-i really didn't mix this, that is...

    Old country song on piano

Heya Chuck Duffy-Good singing and nice piano sound. Yeah the click track-you should know better than that! Hope you record some new stuff, i always like your music and production style.

    Me, Myself & I [rap]

Sounds good-dense sound, the synths sound nice, and there's usually some kind of sound to lead the next section-so i would say this is nicely arranged and not just 1 riff repeating over and over. Nice female back vocs-they sound nice. The male rap sounds good, the content sounds heartfelt and...
