sE 1a's, you can get a stereo matched pair for a reasonable price check them out. http://www.seelectronics.com/sE1a_Stereo.html
I use them and they are really good for the price :)
I can live with tweaking the high frequencies out, it's when you get a mic that sounds like it has a wooly sock for a diaphram and you can't add what isn't there in the first place. The great thing about them is you can get a great clean signal afterall that's why we use the phrase shit in shit out.
Tonight I recorded a kit using an sE 1a for the overheads and one for the hi hats, wow! what a sound. I then used two sE 1a's on an upright piano, I am going to have to find a way of letting you guys hear the results, they sound amazing for the price £69.00 each.
I am contemplating getting a lap top and a multi out sound card for live use instead of carting round a TB303 a TR808 and a keyboard what would any of you recomened?
I used one as an overhead and one on the hihats at a gig I engineered the other night, I can not praise them enough, crisp and just the bollox of a mic for the price. You can also get them as a matched stereo pair to stop phasing if you haven't got a phase reverse on your desk which is quite...
I'm going to be using two sE1a's for overheads at a gig I'm engineering tonight, a guy I know works at a music shop and is lending me two to try out. He is raving about them and I think I would be daft not to take him up on the offer, and at £69.00 each for a small diaphram condenser I think is...
I'm interested to know what this little baby can do I know it has a frequency response of 35Hz - 20 kHz and this seems pretty good but I would like to know what it performs like in a live or studio situation.
I think this thread just goes to show how far the chinese have come technology wise. If you are into or interested in lighting a show the chinese have just made what they call an axial lamp they are 650 watts and throw as much light as a standard 1 K profile and they are a lot less expensive...
I have just purchased this Chinese mic for £150 and I can honestly say money well spent. The casing is sturdy as too is the shock mount and the sound is lively. I was wondering if anyone else had tested one of these little beauties.
I have just purchased a mac, now funds are a bit stretched a bit after forking out for the little rascal. My dilema is what sound module? I am looking at an M-audio 1418 external fire wire or perhaps a terratec phase 88 but I am open to sensible suggestions. I want to use pro-tools but it would...
I have experimented using two C1000 sd condensers and a AKG bass drum mic at the bass end of an upright piano, it worked very well, I've used a similar technique using a AKG bass drum mic on a cello for some Da Da/Friedrich Trautwein/klaus schultze type university band. The track lasted for 40...
