It's an Abit NF7 NForceII chipset I believe. with an athlon XP 2100+, 512k DDR, running WinXP. I pulled out most of my other PCI cards and tried those slots and still no dice.

Okay, now there's another problem. My PC isn't even SEEING the MOTU card when I put it in and power up. The install hardware wizard came up the first couple times. But now nothing. I put the delta card back in and the wizard came up upon booting. WTF?

USB doesn't have nearly the bandwidth that PCI does, but I'm not sure if there is a difference in latency between those. The PCI version is cheaper...

Open SX first. Then open Rebirth. Click on devices in SX, and click on Rebirth. The rewire panel should come up, which will give you options as to which inputs you want to route to SX from rebirth.

Doesn't the 828 have ADAT lightpipe? So if # of inputs are a priority, you COULD get a digital mixer to utilize those and get EIGHT extra ins. I would look at a used Yamaha 01V on ebay with that ADAT expansion card. something like this...
