Electric Lettuce and the Birth of Seth

I haven't posted anything here in about 4 months so I feel like a cherry all over again. This one is a pretty relaxing instrumental. Let me know what you guys think. dmc http://dmcsilva.home.mindspring.com/arrival2.mp3

Recording that "million dollar" guitar sound

Most of your killer tone will come from you, your guitar, and your amp. You have to be satified with your sound before it gets to the mic. After that, experiment with mic placement and doubling tracks, adding delay, and so forth. dmc

Getting Good Tight Bass guitar sounds?

I've gotten decent results going direct only as well. I have found that mic'ing, or even mixing a mic and DI signal, just muddies things up...but this could be due to a lack of experience on my part. dmc

    Wrong amp purchase ... oops

I think you'd be better off buying a used amp. With that sort of money you can get a great used amp...like a real (tube) Marshall. Those Valvestates just don't do the trick. They have the preamp tubes, but that's not where tube warmth comes from-ya gotta have 'em in the power amp section. Of...

    Let's talk about frequency response

Sounds like you are talking about frequency range instead of response. Response describes the peaks and valleys between the lower and upper limits. A flat response (no peaks or valleys) would be ideal unless you want the mic to color the sound in a given range. I don't think any mics are...

    POD tube pre??

The Pod's whole schtick is that it's a digital device that gets the effect of an analog device...but, monty's right, the Art is better for mics.

    High-End Flange??

Encode at at least 192kpbs and/or switch encoders. Both of these solved my problem with this. dmc

    POD or GT-3?

Unless you are going direct to a board or using it as a direct recording source, I don't think the POD would be your best bet. I have one I use to record 'cuz I got a newborn (noise factor), and it works great like this. But I've tried it in the f/x loop and on the front end of my boogie and...

    TEAC A-6010

I recently inherited a TEAC A-6010 in great condition. The heads were recently replaced so it should be in good working order. I know diddley squat about how to use this in my recording-I've only done PC-based 'til now. Anyone have any suggestions on how to best incorporate this into my...

    Librarian for RP2000

I believe the latest version works with the RP2K. RPEdit has been continually updated to work with all of Digitechs boxes. It has a drop down menu to choose which one you are using. The bonus is it's a small download and it's free. dmc

I use a SBLive value card (which is by no means a professional audio card) with Vegas and I've never had any problems regarding latency. dmc
