Most of your killer tone will come from you, your guitar, and your amp. You have to be satified with your sound before it gets to the mic. After that, experiment with mic placement and doubling tracks, adding delay, and so forth. dmc

I've gotten decent results going direct only as well. I have found that mic'ing, or even mixing a mic and DI signal, just muddies things up...but this could be due to a lack of experience on my part. dmc

Sounds like you are talking about frequency range instead of response. Response describes the peaks and valleys between the lower and upper limits. A flat response (no peaks or valleys) would be ideal unless you want the mic to color the sound in a given range. I don't think any mics are...

The Pod's whole schtick is that it's a digital device that gets the effect of an analog device...but, monty's right, the Art is better for mics.

I believe the latest version works with the RP2K. RPEdit has been continually updated to work with all of Digitechs boxes. It has a drop down menu to choose which one you are using. The bonus is it's a small download and it's free. dmc

I use a SBLive value card (which is by no means a professional audio card) with Vegas and I've never had any problems regarding latency. dmc
