You should be hearing the differences... I know when I got a behringer B1 like 2 or 3 years ago I was blown away at the difference between it and an SM58. Every mic since has been noticably different since so I don't know man.
I think the floor tom is way louder than every other aspect of the drums or one of the toms... (maybe my speakers?) The kick is also not as deep and prevalent as I would like in a metal song. Then again I don't do metal. But I love this kind of guitar stuff. :P
