The dual MP is rack mountable, has 4 LEDs on each channel, and the two units are supposedly matched to have similar characteristics.
Musicians Fiend just dropped the price to $279, So those features cost you $80. Probably worth it IMHO.
Where EXACTLY is the sound coming from ? You say it's coming from the tower, but where in the tower ? Is it coming from the PC speaker ?
I have heard that sound before, but it came from a heat detection card in the PC. The alarm would sound when things got hot, warning you of impending thermal...
How about an Alesis ADAT ? At least you won't have to replace everything again if/when you decide to expand to 16 tracks. You just add another deck.
The media is cheap too, SVHS video tape.
Thanks for all the input guys !
I've haven't been at this site since Christmas. I've actually been recording, instead of just talking about it. I decided it was time to take all the tips I've gotten here and put them to work.
But anyway... I did end up buying the MPX-1. It was my Christmas...
I think S8-N's just trying to see how many times he can get us to type "F*ck U B!tch".

That's true DMC.
I probably couldn't get in to heaven even if I did have S8-N's pass. I took a personality test the other day and got a Morality rating of 2...
I guess that means that I draw the line at boiling live kittens but I'm not exactly a candidate for sainthood.
If it's not that, how are you routing the signal? Is it all going through the compressor or only part of it ? Like, if you're using your AUX sends, do you have the channel's sends maxed out ?
Have you noticed a big difference the actual times since they cut your speed ? I've found that my connection is faster than most host systems, so the actual time for uploads and downloads depends more on where I'm connecting to.
The reason I ask is that, in another post, the time you said it...
Yeah, that's about what it took me too.
They're much faster than Freedrive. Maybe they don't have as many users yet.
S8-N, I have a feeling that drstawl isn't using a dial-up Internet connection- and either am I, so your "results may vary".
I don't know if anyone else has done this or not, or if it can be duplicated on other equipment than what I have, but I found an intresting little trick.
I was playing with my new patch bay, trying out different signal routes and so forth, when I stumbled on the following configuration.

Well grounded conduit will act as shielding in environments where there is a lot of Electromagnetic or Radio frequency interference. It would be a good idea to use conduit if there were sources of this type of interference near by. In 'most' residential settings, it probably wouldn't be necessary.
Hey smoooooov,
It's not you, it's the box. I have one too and haven't had any better luck than you have.
It does some things fairly well. Like if you just want to compress a bass track a little bit, it's okay. But it's no good for a whole mix.
I bought a Behringer dual-channel, multiband for...
