DJL- what do you mean my in-ear monitors? If i could you the B1 i'd be very happy.
Chess- I'll be using my alto 6 channel mixer through a PA so nothing fancy. Thanks for the link to the thread..i wouldnt want to spend more than that price range so those mics are good for me!
I have a Shure BG 2.1 and i hate it..first mic i bought and it sounds like crap. I just bought a SP B1 for home recording and love the way it makes my vocals sound. NOw i've got a gig in a couple of weeks just doing acoustic and singing and i need a good mic that sounds like the b1. As obviously...
Thanks guys. Yeah the vocals are very muddy..i sang the whole way through twice and it just has some reverb from Soundblaster EAX on it. It cracks me up when i think back of what i used to do!
The midi drums is a pissa, i was listening to some everlast and dug his kind of acoustic blues with...
Ok, the first song to leave my hard drive.
I thought i might start putting some stuff up for you guys to check out... as your insights are invaluable to people that gets sugar-coated blubber from friends and family.
Soo...without further ado, here is the first song i ever recorded-...
Yeah not having a prob with the 27 but i heard somewhere that the 26 were better. Hey..under the Hardware settings..in the codec sample rate section. What have you got selected? MIne is at 44,100 and if i go to 96000 i get clicks and pops. If i set it to 44 can i still use 96 in Sonar?
I'm using the 27 but havnt tried the 26..only had the card for a couple of weeks. Anyone know from experience which are the best? ALso..if i decide to try the 26 can i just install over top or is there a way i should uninstall them.
Cheers
Well thats shut me up! I think you could work out with one of those stands! Yeah thanks Allan, i did tighten up the clip a bit..and yes..my boom was poking out quite a bit.
Ok...works fine...very happy. Still have one prob though. The level that is coming into the mixer from the soundcard is too loud when i have my headphones on full. If i turn my headphones to half, then when i sing into my mic i can hardly hear it..i need to have my headphones to full so i can...
Bugger. Stupid flimsy mic stands! I've pushed the wire mesh in on the front of mic..kinda bends inwards like a semi-circle. Its not too bad but damn...not a happy camper. Still sounds fine luckily
Nice. I've been doing home recording for over a year but this is the first time i've used a mixer and a card that can do 24/96 so it all blew over my head. Now i can let the good times begin!Though i have to go out and buy a lead that has one 6.5(to go in the aux sends) to 2 rca(for the soundcard).
Cheers for that guys...i'll give it a go and see what happens! Really appreciate the time in getting me through it. I'll chime back with my progress...here hoping
Ok..havnt ever touched on aux usages. Right...soo, My mic is in the first channel, so turn the aux fader clockwise to full. I only have one Aux sends..so its mono right? So plug that into the ins on the soundcard(which is a 6.5 plug for the mixer to 2 rca's for the soundcard) Right?
Dont get...
