New take on folk song "Annable Lee"

This sounds awesome. Amazing vocal and great playing all over. I totally agree with the earlier comment that this would work well in a movie! Keep up the great work!

Instrumental Guitar tune - EVH tribute?

Sounds good to my ears -- especially the SL4X. The bass guitar sits nicely too. What are you using for that?

An experiment in instrumental metal. All feedback welcome!

Thanks for the feedback. Based on comments, I have added some more layering including some tremelo guitar parts panned hard left and right, a few keys here and there and some guitar line harmonies. I also attempted to beef up the bass and tinkered with the drums a little. Hopefully the mix...

An experiment in instrumental metal. All feedback welcome!

Thanks, yeah, all the lead parts are doubled to try and fatten out the sound - but will have a think about how to add some more dynamics and layering! I am indeed a huge Satriani fan! Thanks a lot for the feedback and production advice! :-)

Light In Your Heart (Reggae, Dub)

Kick sounds warmer. Timing wise it sounds slightly ahead of the ‘click’ beat too I think? Is that intentional? Do you have the original version you uploaded to make it easier to do an a/b comparison. Good stuff :-)

An experiment in instrumental metal. All feedback welcome!

I've been playing around with this (instrumental metal?) track today. Hopefully it doesn't sound like one gigantic guitar exercise :-) AJ inspired by a bloke from a book a mate of mine is writing Drums are a combination of a loop I found and a midi track using the 'Dumkit From Hell' set with...

Light In Your Heart (Reggae, Dub)

Hey I really like the guitar sound. What sort of setup do you have? Really love the reverb swells too around the 2 minute mark. My only one comment and I’m certainly no expert is that the kick sounds a bit ‘pokey’. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just what my ears picked up on. Great...

Instrumental Guitar tune - EVH tribute?

Hey can you repost? I’m having difficulty playing the track. Thanks. Ben. EDIT: I am now able to play this (it wouldn't open on my ipad for some reason). Mix sounds really nice to my ears. Sounds quite Gary Moore. Nice tone! What sort of setup do you have? Are you using an eventide harmoniser...

Instrumental blues guitar. All feedback welcome!

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. The only real instruments are the guitars (excluding the bass). The drums are using EZDrummer’s vintage kit. The guitars are using a Bias Amp 2 Plugin designed to mimic an overdriven JTM45 going into a tweed lux cab mic’d up with a 57. I use a CryBaby wah pedal...

Instrumental blues guitar. All feedback welcome!

I had another play with the mix -- added some more rhythm guitar and played around with reverb a bit to try and get everything to sit better. Thoughts? The blues mix 3 Thanks, Ben.

Instrumental blues guitar. All feedback welcome!

Thanks for your feedback earlier Spantini! I've created another mix, with some additional rythm guitar like you suggested, and at the risk of over-producing, I've also added a brass section (Courtesy of Logic's Studio Horns instrument). What do you think? The Blues Cut 2 Thanks, Ben.

Instrumental blues guitar. All feedback welcome!

Thanks for the feedback. I’m going to add some rhythm guitar like you suggested and possibly also some brass parts too!

Hey All, I’ve been working in this blues guitar instrumental: The Blues Final Cut 1 by doc_j | Doc J | Free Listening on SoundCloud Thoughts on the mix and overall sound? Did I do a bad job? Listening back to it now, it does seem rather bass heavy.. Thanks, Ben.

Looking for a rock vocalist to collaborate with / record some vocals. Any takers?

Rough headphone mix below (one of my bx5s is currently broken). Anyway, I'm looking for good male or female rock vocalists to record some vocals! https://app.box.com/s/facti5yn66penviztt7p Regards, Ben

Holy SH#^. I am so happy with our new song I can't stand it!

Nice chops Cool guitar chops man, guitar-wise, kind of reminds me of a cross between lenny kravitz, u2 and steve lukather... I couldn't comment too much on the drums, out of all, the kick perhaps sounds a little muffled and the snare lacks a bit of snap but as you say, its not been mixed yet...

    Zero chain - (hopefully final)

nice one :-) Vocal certainly has more clarity now, imo! Good stuff Joe! Am still looking forward to hearing a real drummer on this track though...considered it? Cheers, Ben.

    No coverups HERE....

Cool Absolutely awesome job...As an earlier poster said you really sing the shit out of this track...really amazing; I can only hope that my own productions will one day be half as good. Cheers, Ben.

    "Downshifter" - Mix Critique

How are your ears today? Hopefully my new song won't offend them!

extra hook... It was always a bone of contention as to whether I should add an extra vocal hook...I still might I guess, but don't have any ideas currently.... Cheers!

    Zero chain - (hopefully final)

Nice one! Hi man, I really love what you've done, guitars (what setup did you use?) and vocals are fantastic as usual and I like the drum programming...I do think perhaps the vocal is ever so slightly lacking in clarity however....I'd be tempted to try cutting some of the low mids.... I agree...
