Look on Ebay for the TEAC/Tascam E-3 Demagnetizer. It has a skinnier design which would be great for getting into the small Head area of your Tape Echo. Don't forget at least 95% Isopropyl Alcohol. Good Luck.

Hey ghost, maybe your 21st Channel Card was to an MSR-24, not an ATR-80. I have seen those Cards and they are VERY different from the MS-16.

I've had Azimuth problems before it definitely wasn't like this. That depends on what the VU Meters are showing in Repro. If they are both reading the same, they should be "ok" at the very least. Do both of your Meters read the same Levels? Continuously? Try Reproducing some 1khz tones and...

When I was replacing Relays in my MS-16, I was bleeding from several fingertips and burned by the soldering iron. I can think of at least 5 occasions where the amp cards have sliced my arms and hands. Those things are sharp! Lots of pokey stuff. Tape Machine restoration is a dirty job.

Well, like I said, I sold it. I did have the DX-8 Unit, but for some reason it always sounded a bit noisy(maybe the Model 5B?) and a bit squashed sounding(DBX NR) Then again, that was before I learned that you shouldn't push the Levels "so" high with the DBX. I think I may have been saturating...

Thanks. Is it more of a priority to replace the Capacitors with higher Capacitor and Voltage values as opposed to ones with lower values? Meaning, the higher the values, the more affect they have on the equipment?
