    opinion on korg n364

Hey jpw23...in the mid-90's I was interested in the Korg N364 but never got near one to experience it personally (I finally went with the Roland XP-50 because its sequencer had percentage quantitization)...have you got a link to any songs you have done with the N364, I would be interested in...

Hey, I use soundclick and it seems to be okay...True, I have found it "down" quite often, but usually 5 minutes later it is back in buisness.

"That Mic was On?!"...Major Label Mistakes

Has anyone here heard the song "Question of Temperture" (I think that is how they spelled it on their record) by Balloon Farm......I think the song is from the 60's...I love the song (it seems to be ahead of it's time) but there are sections in the song where the fuzzed-up guitar seems to be...

    All Your Friends

Music is all around us in modern society...somehow we still find a song here and there that has a special meaning to us personally. What makes us like or dislike a song?...our accumilated life experiences?...the music we have been exposed to in the past? I don't know what it is that makes me...

    All Your Friends

Hey...not crazy about the song from a songwriting point of view...but as far as playing ability and recording quality I think it sounds pro (comparable with the best stuff I've heard here in the mixing clinic)...makes me think of the early Police.

    Like INTENSE Instrumental Prog?

My take on "Ghost of a Train": ambitious...the Beatles meet Rush...this music would be good in an intellectually-challenging "avant-garge" movie...did find that highest cymbal(?) sound a little distracting, it sort of stuck out conspicuously and didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the drum kit.

Just got my mixer, very dissapointed.

I've heard some positive comments about the Yamaha MG series mixers that start at around $100...that may be an option for you.

Just got my mixer, very dissapointed.

Hey poo...I have had the same experience...I bought a Beringer ($50-$60) MX802A mixer a couple of years ago in the grip of "gear fever" (I had an idea of that I could use its pre-amps to utilize my compressor before I went into my 4-track cassette)...I have experimented with it but mostly it has...

newbie - which kb to learn on?

Hey Stacy...I think it is really hard to try to line keyboards up on a hierarchy of least to greatest...a higher-end PSR series keyboard can be $1000 or more and at the same time there are some interesting "pro-level" keyboards that are selling new for $500-$600 (Yamaha S03 and Roland Juno-D)...

    Roland xp-30 in Canada?

Hey jumpmanjr...don't know if any of the following will pertain to your situation there in your location in Canada but I will offer this perpective...I live in quite a rural area (the extreme Southwest region of the state of Virginia, U.S.A. in the notorious Appalachian moutain range)...Although...

newbie - which kb to learn on?

Levinin...most semi-serious musicians find "touch response" a critical requirement for a musical keyboard...the least expensive new board that I have found with touch response is the Yamah PSR-273 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/fg=102/g=key/search/detail/base_pid/707427/ It also has 480...

Country TUne, a friend of mine is doing.

Hey...I'm not digging the vocal (it sounds like three people are singing lead vocal at the same time all the way through the song). I would go with more solo-sounding vocal, at least for the verses...and it sounds like some of the instrumentation is being cancelled out (some intruments sound way...

"Remixed" an old song of mine

Hey...I listened to your new version...I think there is talent here as far as the instrumentation...there is a lot going on and for the most part it all sounds good together. Maybe it could be a little tighter as far as timing. Don't really like the song from a songwriting point of view...makes...

    Where to purchase used Synths?

Here is a business selling a used XP-30 that will probably not rip you off (if you are okay with the price)... I have heard of these guys before and I think I might have bought a keyboard from them years ago via ebay (some buisnesses and pawn shops use ebay to sell musical instruments)...

    Budget Synth Revisited

Hey jumpmanjr...this is a revision of something I wrote in another thread a while back that might apply to your questions: My concept of the perfect keyboard (for me) has evolved over the years...I had some ancient, mid-80's dinosaurs and recorded into a boombox for a few years...about 10...
