    Postrocky track and a Filmic track I would like feedback on

    Listened to the first track. I like it and I didn't find it too long at all. Post rock tracks are "supposed to" be long and droning like that. Great work! Some tracks seem a bit muddy though. The drums (specifically snare) could perhaps be a tad brighter and have a little more volume. I would...

    let me see your studio!

    Looks good! Wish I had a bigger room like that. Nice pedal board too! And love the desk! I don't see any acoustic treatment though(?)

    Artificial Vocalist - Alternative Approach.

    Can barely hear the vocals. Turn them up and I'll have another listen because it is an interesting idea and for this industrial style it might just sound good. Cool sound overall.

    Muse - Sunburn (cover)

    Robus and Bulls Hit, thanks for listening. Appreciate it! There is a lot going on at the same time, so I wasn't sure whether or not I should EQ (hi-pass) the drums a bit more making room for the other instruments. I decided not to.

    The Weight...Cover....feedback?!

    You've got a great authentic voice. Not really much to say about the mix as it's only a guitar and vocals. Also love the Townes-cover "Colorado Girl". That guy was the reason I started fingerpicking.

    Muse - Sunburn (cover)

    My cousin and I had a recording session the other day and figured we'd record something we both like. He did the vocals and I did the rest. Even though I've got a drum set, these drums are programmed as I can't make that much noise since I live in an apartment. For what it's worth...

    Hey everyone, music producer enthusiast seeking help in choosing a new Synth VST

    Check out Helm. It's free (if you want it to be) and sounds great in my opinion. Great user interface too. Helm by Matt Tytel

    How to position acoustic treatment

    I can recommend the tri-traps from GIK Acoustics. They pretty much changed my life. I'm sure other manufacturers offer solid traps too. I do use some 4" Auralex foam as well in addition to 2" traps (also from GIK). I think they can be useful for first reflection points. But foam bass traps...

    Translation problem

    This is what I always heard too so I've kept the volume of the sub-woofer at a bare minimum, but... ...this really helped! I've conducted some research the past few days: rendering tracks and comparing them at different systems and in different rooms and at last I think I found the perfect...

    Translation problem

    I'm mixing in a pretty small room, but it's well treated with bass traps (tri-traps and 244 traps) in the corners and 242 traps at reflection points. I'm using the Sonodyne SM100AK monitors along with a KRK 10" subwoofer (which I barely have any volume on). So here's the problem: When I do a...

    New Song - It's Not Over Yet

    Great song! Having read the posts, it would be interesting to hear those first mixes. This one sounds great except maybe the drums could be a tad louder(?).

    LOOPERS Anyone?

    I remember when I was interested in getting the Pigtronix and you told me this. I was like, well, I am certainly going to find use for it. So I bought it. It was fun for a while, but I soon realized it was way overkill. It's a great looper, but like you said, I ended up sounding pretty much the...

    "bullet..." song redone with new bridge and chorus

    Good stuff! :laughings: Like, of course, what else could you do? Funny as fuck.

    voodoo child (slight return) just for fun

    You absolutely nailed it. I've seen/heard quite a few cover bands playing this song, and what most of them lack is that Hendrix groove. Well, you've got it. Excellent and inspiring performance. Really tight. The mix sounds fine to me.

    let me see your studio!

    Looks great, Mike! Your studio has a lot of atmosphere that mine lacks. It looks like there is stuff going on there in a sense with all that stuff lying around. My studio has nothing in it that is not related to music and I do not have the space for that at all.

    control room monitoring question

    I simply mute the main output in Totalmix (using an RME interface), leaving the headphones output on.

    Loopers/Phrase Samplers......

    I've had it for a couple of days and I've hardly left the studio since. I love the way you can use it with a bass guitar, send the bass signal to the bass amp and the guitar signal to the guitar amp. At first when I read your post, this is what I thought you meant it couldn't do so I was pretty...
