    Do I suck?

Yup, you suck. ;) No it's not that bad, but get you teeth apart and also work hard on your intonation and your vocal technique it would be way better. But for starters its ok!!

which soundcard should I get for my mac?

I would always recommend anyone of the MOTU interfaces. They are always quick on delivering new drivers when Apple decides to update its OS and whereas most budget manufacturers make their interfaces primarely for win PCs, MOTU has always supported the Mac platform.

thanks mwthompson. i had already taken out some of the breaths but everytime i listened to it afterwards, i had a kind of suffocating feeling cause i was expecting a breath, so i left the others. i guess though the compressor made them louder than they really are. i guess i might make them a...

I've been using the ADA 8000 for quite a while to extend my 828 MK II on Drums and Choir and orchestra recordings and not only have I never had any problems, it also sounds quite good for what it is and costs!!

    What is a deesser?

Its basically a compressor side chained with an eq. So everytime a certain defined frequency passes the threshhold, it gets compressed, lowered or cut off, what ever you set it to do.

    Software Opinion

What do you mean by most superior? Most expensive or most commonly used or with the most features...? I think any of the usual ones i.e. Logic, cubase, ProTools etc can be used to achieve great results. I think more important is what hardware you are using.

    M-Audio Lightbridge + B ADA8000...monitors where?Hey. I've decided to get an M-Audio

I don't think you're going to need the 2496, because the lightbridge is compatible with PT M-Powered. If your monitors are active, then connect them to out 1 + 2 of the ADA 8000 (at the back). You just have to hook up your ada 8000 to your Lightbridge and that to your Mac/PC via firewire and...

Thats what I would say. Why buy a Mac if you are not going to use it as such?!? Of course your friend is right when he says you won't be able to use all you PC stuff. If that is what you want, buy a PC.

Help! Which budget monitors to get???

I use the Yamaha HS50s and they work really good for me!! Although they don't sound "nice" the way one is used to from ones Hifi-speakers they are very "honest" as they display the sound like it really is, similar to the legendary NS10s!!

Nice website. I would change the resolution of the pics or change the format to decrease the file size though, cause they take a hell of a long time to load comparing to other websites!

Tuning toms is a pain in the ass.

I guess it's like Farview said, drum heads are like guitar strings: when they are new you're gonna have to tune them more often, it will get less as they get older!

    Macbook or Macbook Pro?

Yes I do, I´m using an IceCube FW 400, 250 GB harddisc plugged into the Motu. I use it mainly for audio because I don´t use too many audio instruments. At times I also use the internal HDD which works fine too!
