Yeah but i get some noise coming from the 7khz range...but if i do any major reduction i lose the "crunch" factor from my tone...i figure not bad for a start...but im looking for a really tight punchy full tone...and the more i listen to more i realize my sounds weak points...

While i agree that its the player that makes the real difference when it comes to sound, having good gear is important...for anyone serious about playing guitar..a 100$ wal-mart guitar will never do...plus you can get way better gear for not much more money...and for recording...forget it...no...

Well the amp is in an amp case i have for a larger amplifier i own...the case is a cube...2 1/2 feet...removed the padding from two sides so the amplifier and mic can fit in there...the mic is an sm57 up against the grill on axis...a little more than half way from the center of the speaker...

I still have no idea...i got frustrated trying to fix it...i tried everything...i finally got frustrated and went to bed (it was late)...came back the next day to give it one more shot...and the problem was gone

Its not at all that its too low...and i recorded it Direct Into my toneport thats all i can do right now...sounds nice.....when i solo the track it doesn't sound too bassy at all...sounds nice...and i can rerecord it no problem...any suggestions?...and when i compress it it actually seems to sit...

I just added the bass to the track. Fills out the low end but sounds far too boomy to me. What do you think? Any tips on how to make the bass cut more and not sound so low end?

Yep...plan on adding bass tonight...then drums once my kick mic gets to my house in the mail

Yeah...but i think this should rest well enough in a mix with a little bit of EQ'ing if necessary...my amp settings were set up so that i had more than enough mids...i cut down the lows from where i usually have them and left the highs right where i like em...my settings were Gain=6 Mids=6...

Go into preferences...then select the audio device tab....and look on the scroll list for your interface...as long as you have installed the drivers necessary to use that interface with your operating system it should be on that list...if not i am of no help
