    Indie/Hard Rock Song- Rockonin

Well congrats to ya for that! Keep working and writing. Do you have other tracks like this?

    Newest mix, looking for feedback

Ah the piano maybe? In the verses there's a piano on the right, and and a distorted guitar on the left. Also, there's a room mic for the guit panned opposite, and a reverb for the piano panned opposite too. The only clean guitars are in the bridge though

    Newest mix, looking for feedback

Haha, yes, I'll bring that up I suppose. I didn't track this, but yes, it's a mic'd amp. I added a good dose of top end to the guitars. Maybe I'll tame that some or get more body in the mids. What kind of tweaking for the clean part? And do you mean the center kinda soloish piece, or the two...

    Newest mix, looking for feedback

Hey everyone, I'm hoping to get some people to listen to this on some monitors and let me know how it sounds. As I listen back now, I think the kick is too loud . That'll be the first tweak I guess. I didn't do any tracking for this, just mixing someone else's work for fun. Anyway...

    Thrashy Metalcore

Nice! I love some good ol metal! Song sounds sweet, but as VomitHatSteve said, the vox are too dry. Check out this thread from a couple weeks back. Guitargotgt give some good pointers on how Lamb of God did vocals, and after listening to other records, I hear similar things a lot...

    Indie/Hard Rock Song- Rockonin

Yeah, I have to agree, the drums sound too robotic. With some real drums, this song would be way sweeter. You had my head dancing in like 5 seconds! It just needs a mix o do the song some better justice.

    mix opinions

I like what you having going, but it's hard to listen to because the drums are really off time and it's messing with me. The vocals have a lot of nasally stuff happening in there, and it might be partly caused by being washed in reverb. Pre-delay could help that though maybe. Actually, there...

Reggae Rock Track "Horizon" by Burning Loud

Nice track! I agree that everything sounds pretty well balanced, one thing that's a little odd is the amount of reverb on the drums, especially the snare. I like the reverb tone, but maybe a touch less. Unless you like it of course! :p

Question about setting up Studio Monitors with interface

If you have a 1/8" (small headphone jack size) to RCA, you can use that from the headphones out to the speakers. I did that for a long time before coughing up a little dough for the "correct" cables. I had that cable just hanging around the house..

    Harrison Mixbus???

Hey Tim, thanks for taking some time to join us here on HR! It's so great to have such direct contact with a developer! I bought Mixbus this morning and did my first mix on it. I think it sounds fantastic, and the work flow is way quicker than a typical Cubase mix for me. Great work with this...

Gotcha, thanks for the nice answer boulder!

    Vocals Sound Louder in Headphones

Is that all the reason though? I know it's not perfect, but even when using crossfeed eq, I still get this effect.. Maybe I don't have it set up well, idk

    Vocals Sound Louder in Headphones

Right, but is this not true for headphones too? I mean, there are in fact still 2 speakers in a pair of headphones, no?

    Vocals Sound Louder in Headphones

Sorry, bad wording on my part... What I meant was that I have a tendency to make center items too loud when working with phones.

    Harrison Mixbus???

You know, Reason does look nice, but it seems a bit over the top for me.. When you say old PC, mind outlining the specs? I'd like to run mixbus on a machine that's dual-core, and only 2 gigs of ram. Will it be alright you think?

    Harrison Mixbus???

The console feel is what I'm really hoping for. I've never mixed on a console, but I'm tired of having to click all over the dang screen just to get another db of GR on a compressor or something. This software seems pretty slick. I'm wondering if 8 busses will be enough though.. I tend to use a...

    Harrison Mixbus???

I was thinking the same thing! And, because it updates in the cart as 2 pieces, you can ditch the plugs if you want and only spend $49 on the whole shabang! Buying this tonight for sure. I did a bunch of research just the other day when this DAW was mentioned elsewhere, and I really love the...

    Vocals Sound Louder in Headphones

I have to mix on phones lately because of my living situation and I found this exact problem as well, but also with kick, snare, and bass. The center tracks are hardest to judge on phones. Just the other day I tried putting an EQ on the master bus, and rolling off the highs to about 5k, and...

    Speakers for Mastering...nearfield or farfield?

The sky isn't blue and grass isn't green. :drunk: We can all make claims and not give any evidence to back them up! Care to elaborate?

Recording with a metronome, and without

Yeah, it works well for mic placement for sure. One bother I have with it though is that when using this technique for micing a guitar amp, I always seem to make it too dark sounding. Idk if it's the particular buds I use (usually skull candy because they have good isolation alone) or what...
