Not really.
When you use fdisk or Windows to format a drive it asks you, if you want to set the size of a partition yourself, or you want to allocate all available space. Maximum partition size depends on several factors, like BIOS version, drive characteristics and file system that you use...
In my opinion VSpaceBoy made some quite questionable statements in this thread.
1. People make partitions only for keeping it neat? Wrong.
When you use special software to create a partition larger than Windows can see by default, you are putting a small service file on the boot sector of the...
Are we talking about the same model?
Flat or not, but my 7506 are nowhere near bassy. In fact I find them too bass shy for casual listening. Nevertheless they enable me to pick little nuances in each part of audio spectrum, which is what studio monitors are supposed to do.
"Audio Master" is just a brand name of the process. I think it is very possible that Plextor does essentially the same thing with minor technical differences to avoid patent infringement, and calls it differently.
"Audio Master" involves hardware and software processes. For example Nero...
Two Yamahas here, one - like yours and 3200E.
The 3200 is quiter than 2200, and it has 4x Audio Master mode. None of the drives ever failed on me.
As it has been already mentioned here, unlike most todays cheap drives they have all speeds starting from 1x.
I have yet to came across media...
Sony 7506.
Light and comfortable.
Their overall sound tone is a little bit on the bright side, and you may not find them very pleasant to listen to.
They serve a different purpose - studio monitoring. You will hear what is going on in your mix very clearly. In fact you may be surprised, how...
This is a matter of personal religion, and therefore there is no answer.
Both work just fine.
BTW, most glitches people are complaining about are caused by other parts, rather then CPU itself: mobo (chipset, BIOS), power, cooling, drivers etc. etc.
BluesMeister is right.
PCI video cards may pollute the PCI bus - hence noises, clicks and pops.
Get yourself an AGP videocard, and make sure nothing is installed in PCI slot No. 1, which is right next to AGP slot . These two slots may share the same IRQ, which is undesirable.
I have one. I needed a new case anyway, so I got Sonata.
It can be considered very quite for office applications, but not "dead" quite for music recording purposes. I would say it is reasonably quite.
Its got some nice features though. Antec power supply has a single variable speed fan - they...
Here is some information about pagefile.sys:
http://www.techadvice.com/win2000/p/page-file_w2k.htm
and here is information on sharing: http://web.ukonline.co.uk/cook/dualshare.htm
Actualy this is on sharing between Windows 2000 and 98, but it should be possible in your setup as well.
Hope it...
What are you using to read the free space data? Are you seeing all files and folders, including hidden files, swap file, recycle bin file, temp files? Have your box crashed lately? There could be a number of reasons, including known FAT32 space bug. Try to run Scandisk and see what it reports...
I use one box solely for audio. No office, no games, no networking. This allows to keep the number of tasks that system is running down to the minimum.
