Metal/rap hybrid song needs fresh ears

Think the guitars sounded good, but the snare (or maybe the whole drumkit) and perhaps the vocals could be a tad louder.

    Howth

I think the guitars and the mix sounded good.

Snare is a bit too harsh. And ye, get em rappers rehearsing the transition some more. Otherwise good song.

    T's and s's on vocals

Thanks for the feedback. I have tried to get that muddiness away and remixed it. I did also remove the effect on the verse vocals since it made it so bright. Here is a new remixed and remastered version. Will probably let this one rest a bit after this upload...

    T's and s's on vocals

Thanks for the feedback! Should I run every singel instrument (incl. bass and drum) to the same group and cut at the 1k slot? Can I apply the EQ on every single track or do you mean that I should send all the instrument tracks to a bus like with reverb etc.?

    T's and s's on vocals

So I have done a new version and removed the t's and s's a lot more. Also, I have boosted the vocals a bit and cut som frequencies. I did some with the bass too, but don't know if it's better or not :). This is the latest mixed and mastered version. Is the volume ok? Grateful for feedback...

    T's and s's on vocals

Thank you! Yes, I have been trying to get those out, but they can be a bit tricky or at least this vocal track is. I'll be back with a new version some time soon.

    T's and s's on vocals

No problem, I've heard that one before. Yes, I want the kick drum to sound artificial. The bass guitar is a bit tricky. I'll have to learn to mix it better in the mix.

    T's and s's on vocals

Thanks! Good idea, they are a bit low. Man, never knew I sounded so feminine :).

    T's and s's on vocals

Hi, I agree about the drum as you and tripleM pointed out. I have lowered the "smack" sound a bit. What do you mean "second and third harmonics"? How can that be treated? Thanks! And im a big fan of Radiohead.

    T's and s's on vocals

Yea, thanks! No, I won't further master the mastered track. I'll try to lower the s's and t's a bit and maybe lower the higher frequencies a bit. Grateful for the feedback! - "mixing is not mastering" This bit I do understand :)

Same microphone for vocals and guitars

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I agree. I was a bit sceptic about the high frequencies in the master version. I will try to change it some more. Good article btw.

    T's and s's on vocals

I just mastered the song and im wondering if the vocals t's and s's are too bright? Any opinions? Should it be remixed? Thanks in advance! https://soundcloud.com/floreanamusic/i-have-grown-master-2

Same microphone for vocals and guitars

After your comment there I just simplified the beat, which is of my opinion better. The original link has been updated.

Same microphone for vocals and guitars

Thanks propman! Yes, I was also wondering about that. I will try out another pattern for it, for example try to find the programming you're talking about. :)

Same microphone for vocals and guitars

Hi, I just recorded vocals and guitars with the same microphone (sm58). Does it sound muddy or weird? I have been listening to the track too many times. Thanks in advance! https://soundcloud.com/floreanamusic/i-have-grown-mix2

    Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Thanks for the reply. Just wondering about the guitar being a single performance. If there is one track played like that in the song, would you have it centerad? Or would it interfere with the vocals being in the center too? I have been wondering about guitars that plays picking parts that only...
