desperate on a problem with guitar sound

well i tried it again today, using different cables and trying everything.. its just a noise that the pick creates, no matter how soft or hard i play, it is always there (even when i play clean, directly into the soundcard..) i really dont understand why i am the only one with this problem.

desperate on a problem with guitar sound

thanks, c7sus and AcidRain, for the explanation :) i can say for sure, that it is not the mic, and not digital clipping.. it must be something "physical" having to do with the strings, pick or whatever. what i dont get is, why no one else seems to have this problem! (searched the board before...

desperate on a problem with guitar sound

if that was a serious reply, please explain it to me, as i lack english skills and therefore didnt understand it well.. if it was not (coming that that conclusion when i look at the post that followed), why r u spoiling my thread with sarcasm? i mentioned that the sound clip is crap sounding and...

    i'm a newbie...(and of course...i need more advice:))

like i said, u NEED any kind of preamp to boost up ur mic before recording it. because the output signal of mics is way too quiet that u could use it like this. (speaking of higher quality mics than a 10-buck-thing which u plug into ur onboard soundcard, which i hope u will use.. :) ) a preamp...

desperate on a problem with guitar sound

ok, i am really having fun with recording and everything involved with it. but the last few weeks i have been working on getting a decent guitar sound, and i have a huge problem that i cant get fixed whatever i try, and i really really hope someone can explain this to me: everytime i try, i...

    i'm a newbie...(and of course...i need more advice:))

home recording for dummies is the best book i read to get me started, yet :) you might want to get a small mixer. or a pre-amp for ur microphone. whereas there ARE internal preamps on the xlr inputs of most mixers. they r just not as good as external preamps, quality-wise - although the mixer...

    Naming that tune

i have to say, that i avoid naming a song by a line appearing in it (or even worse, the chorus) - i dont know why that is, tho.. hehe i write alot of "hidden message" songs, it happened that i used titles, that u just needed to know, if wanted to be able to guess what the song could be about ;)...

    buying my first overheads..

thanks Richard :D well, i will most probably go with a sp b-1 and a v67 now, since the t.bone r "german/chinese" mics as well.. ;) tho it surprises me, that most people here (if not all) dislike the behringer b-1 (or behringer products anyway lol) - well in germany and here (i'm right next to...

    buying my first overheads..

another question.. is there maybe any place on the net where i can listen to how LD and SD mics sound? i mean yea, describing the difference is nice, but i'd just like to hear it myself (and yes, i am aware of the fact that each mic sounds different to another anyway..) just wondering, thanks...

    buying my first overheads..

LOL :D thanks for the comparison, i'd be best with the LDs then tho, i think i mind trashiness least (plus the fact it still should b a vocal mic, too.. lol)

    buying my first overheads..

thanks Dethska, i actually wasnt aware of that, the first choice for overheads r small condenser mics.. but as i mentioned, i also want to record vocals, thats why i want to go for LD mics.. thats a nice idea indeed.. tho i'm aiming for a stereo image.. :\ hehe! i have to admit that i dont...

    buying my first overheads..

ok after a long process of thinking it over, i decided to buy 2 LD condenser mics for ambience micing drums. buuuut i'm unsure yet, WHICH mic to buy, or even to buy two DIFFERENT mics.. dont get mean wrong - it seems obvious that i'll get the best result with the same mic on both sides; but...
