Some vintage Cerwin Vegas and a old Mitsubishi amp. They put out some really nice sound, but I don't think their very accurate for monitoring.

Onyx 1620 w/ firewire, Tracktion, and a few mics. I really hope these monitors improve my mixes. I've heard mixed reviews about the Wharfes...

I was wondering about headphones, monitors (whats the difference between reference and nearfield, are they the same?), whether to go active or passive (probably active). I've looked into the Wharfedales but I hear their bass is weak. Suggestions?

I need some way to monitor my recordings. What options do I have? I've got about $250 - $300 to spend. Thanks for any help!

The only problem is that the mk012's are so hard to find. The ones on ebay are like $350+ for a pair.

If a pair of Studio Project B1's will serve well over my drumset (especially after previously using a pair of SM57s), for $200, its pretty much a done deal. I'd like to do some more research and get some more suggestions though, before I break the bank. :p

Those MXL 603's have some good reviews, yet so does the SPB1. And as for the Oktava MK012s, I can't even find where to buy them. :confused:

I'm currently using 2 SM57s as my overhead drum mics. I've got $100 (I could probably push the bugest a little higher if it's worth it.) to spend on 2 overhead mics, but I dont know what to choose. I record all genres, rock, jazz, pop, you name it. What would you buy?

I've got about $350 to spend. Should I purchase more mics (mainly for drums, or maybe one for miking a saxophone), or a pair of Wharfedale 8.2a's? The only mics I own are D112, three SM57s, SM58. Below are some of my recordings. Rock Tune Jazz Tune Thanks for any suggestions!
