    "Floating" drum floor

What about that Auralex Hoverdeck Drum Isolation Platform? Do you think it will help to dampen the vibrations being felt outside my room?

    "Floating" drum floor

I was thinking of taking two sheets of plywood, and put blocks of rubber in between them. Maybe put some carpet on top, and setting my drumset on top. Do you guys think this would dampen some of the low frequencies from being felt within/outside my house? Thanks!

    How does my drumkit sound?

I put a small amount of EQ on the entire drum mix, but all it really did was brought up the volume some. Could the snare and kick be a tuning issue?

    How does my drumkit sound?

I made a few recordings of my drumset: Drums with no guitar, with clean guitar, "reverby" (for lack of better terms) guitar, and distorted guitar. How do the drums sound on their own, and how do they sound with guitar? Overheads: SM57s Snare: SM57 Kick: AKG D112 Drums as of Dec. 4 Drums...

My mics run into a Mackie Onyx 1620.

KSM32s, im going to do it...

I think I read somewhere that the 32 worked better on drums than the 44. No?
  14. JonathanRay

KSM32s, im going to do it...

Okay, I think I'm going to do it. I'm going to order two KSM32s. I'll use them mainly as drum overheads, but also for recording my saxophone, acoustic guitar, and vocals.

    $500...need overhead(s) mic(s)...what would you do?

Have you ever used them as drum overheads?

    $500...need overhead(s) mic(s)...what would you do?

I've got $500 to spend on overhead(s) mic(s). Should I purchase one KSM32 or two SM94s? Or maybe different mics? What would you do? My snare, kick, and all my toms are independently miked. (I play rock, funk, jazz, all genres.) Thanks!
  17. JonathanRay

    Shure KSM32 worth the $500?

Okay, this is what I'm thinking. How about just one KSM32 as an overhead, to pick up all my cymbals. Each tom would be miked with an SM57. Yes? No? Possible? Thanks for any feedback.

    Shure KSM32 worth the $500?

I need a pair for overhead drum miking. I'll probably use them for saxophone, acoustic guitar, and vocal. Would it be worth the $1000, or would two KSM27s be a better buy? Thanks!
  19. JonathanRay

$600 to spend on drum overheads.

In the long run, would I be better off dishing out an extra $400 for a pair KSM32s insteading purchasing a pair KSM27s?

$600 to spend on drum overheads.

I need a pair for my drum overheads, but I also would like something I can use on saxophone, acoustic guitar, and vocals. I have no condensors at the time, and I'm using SM57s for everything.
