Do you really buy that expensive recording software?

True, but this insidious behavior doesn't end wiith sequencer apps - it permeated the entire industry in VSTs, soft synths, sample libraries, audio editors, etc. All the result of the labor of individuals. This is what they create. Some peole paint. Some people do construiction. Some people...

61 key controller that holds up to live use...

Actually, it's got a bizarre feel all of its own. took me a little getting used to. Should be fine for weekly gigs. Just be careful with the faders.

61 key controller that holds up to live use...

I use an Axiom 61 for live. It's a good sturdy controller with one caveat - you have to be a little careful with the faders as they're a little delicate. Transport it in a decent case and you'll be alright. It is a heavy semi-weighted action though. It took me a little getting used to, but it...

    Girlfriend wants weighted keys

Or get a Studiologic controller, which is the same company that makes the keybeds for the Kurzweil series. It's the same keyboard. http://www.music123.com/Studiologic-SL-990XP-88-Key-MIDI-Controller-708348-i1155117.Music123 I have both a Kurzweil K2500R and a K2600R. The only this I miss from...

    Girlfriend wants weighted keys

The Prokeys 88 is semi-weighted. The Keystation Pro is fiully weighted. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KeystationPro88/. I use one live is it is quite good. The Studiologic controllers are my favorite keyboards of any kind, and I've tried many of them. They are the same keybed found in...

PLEASE Help me pick a MacBook for PTLE 7.3

It's not a hj, it's a collary to the thread. To run multiple firewire devices, you could get a firewire hub: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=193393# Never used one, not sure how well they handle.

How to use rack EQs w/ exisiting mic pre

While I might in general disagree with EQ'ing to tape, the eq will go after the pre. Place it in front of the pre and it won't have anything to eq :) I'm not good enough to know in all cases exactly what EQ I'll need before I set things in the mix, so I'll almost always EQ the track afterwards...
