I am using a M-Audio Mobile pre on my laptop wih windows XP. How in the he?? do I get it to record mono. I have tried to find the setting but no luck. I am pluging my guitar amp out into channel 1 on the mobile pre and I only get sound from one headphone. Please Help.

Thanks for all the information, I will do some reasearch. The computer will be used mainly for recording (one track at a time ex. guitar, keyboard for drums, and vocals) Autocad and general internet. If a celeron will work just as good, I would definitly go with that. Again thanks for the info.
