Could anyone tell me the differences of the various C-414 models ? There's the TLII, the ULS and God knows what else. I know one of the models are intended for vocals, and the other for instruments.... but which is which ?

Every commercial studio MUST have at least one decent microphone. The fact that you don't makes me wonder about your knowledge of recording.

I use a ATM25 for kick recording, and I am satisfied with the results.

If you want the metal kick sound, trigger is the way to go. Why ? Cause all the kicks you're hearing on those albums are triggered.

IF it's the power supply, it will cost you more to repair it than a used ADAT is worth. I got a ADAT XT-20 with broken power supply. Use it in my boat as anchor.

Well, I never said it was great for kick, snare or percussion.

I have the Pro VLA and it beautiful on everything. Great for overheads, vocals, guitar, bass and across the mix bus.

I was around, and I know that dual mono is more expensive than stereo. But, and I am guessing here, a gate should be easier/cheaper to build than a compressor, so maybe you'll end up at the same cost ?

Problem is, where I live I can't audtion the V8's. Only the V4 and the V6. I love the V4's but they are lacking in bass for natural reasons. I wonder if the V8's are as good but with added bass or have a different sound ? Often, the bigger woofer you got, the more bass you get but also the...

I would like to see a Really Nice 2ch Gate, and a Really Nice 2ch de-esser. Most de-essers out there suck. And a lot of the gates too. With 2ch I mean dual mono.

And when the music is completely even in level, our music is being listened to in 0 bit. :rolleyes:
