CAD GXL 3000 vs. CAD M177

I've had them both. The GXL3000 is fantastic. Great for vox and acoustic. Unfortunately I sold it and bought an M177 and It's another great buy, but its more neutral. Not hyped in any way. I like it too. I don't regret buying it, but I really regret selling the 3000. Will buy it again.

    virtual drums

EZ Drummer is fantastic. I do all my songs on it and people really like them. No many have been able to tell they are not real drums.

    Piano & Vocal. Your thoughts?

I love it! Everything sound fantastic, but in my personal preference, I would stick a little more reverb on both voices, specially in the second one so it sounds further away and not so much in her face. Other than that, is wonderful. What piano patch is it? Sounds great!

using a sock as a mic cover

I had horrible drums to begin with! I could try to fix some, but they sound bad and are played really sloppy. I chose a clicky kick cause that's was mostly used in this genre. The guitars are just how you recorded them. Had to took a hell a lot of low cause they got all over the place. The...

Silverstein/Bullet For My Valentine/Avenged Sevenfold type Hardcore/Punk demo

The kick needs click. The vox needs to come up and add some verb to it. If you double it in some parts would be even better.

mixing vox with a SM7 mic

I think it sounds good. Maybe a little bit more of compression and more verb should make it sit better.

Anyone with fresh ears at the moment? :D

Like the first one better by far. The problem here its that is too repetitive. Maybe that's what you were going for, like a loop. I though I was hearing Natural Mystic, which is good! :)

This is my funny take on this. This was sloppy played. The singer has the worst mic technique ever! There was a guitar completely missing so I had to double it. All this took like, I don't know, 30 minutes. Let me know what you guys think. http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/88248-jammerfinal.mp3

I had the CAD GXL3000 and is a really good mic. I hate myself for selling it. You wont regret buying it, only selling it. :D

Pop Punk song with Presonus FP10

The guitars are too loud. The drums are too way down. Put a little snare up to give power to the song. The vox is a little drowned also. Nice song, but have to work a little in the mix.

    I'm a Freak - Greg_L original

Freaking great, my friend! I cant nit pick anything. If soemthing, I would bring up, just a little bit, the first part of the solo. That's the only thing. The song, performance and mix are great.

    Hard Rock/Punk Recording

Sounds very good! I like it a lot. I agree about the vocals. Its not much, but maybe 1.5 to 2 db down would do the trick. Nicely tracked and mixed. Kudos!

    bass recording?!?

I compress a little going in, then, at mixing, I squash the hell out of it with a Waves L2 Ultramaximixer. Sounds really, really good.

    A new experiment.

Thanks, bud! About the strumming, I only like to do that when it a really upbeat song. For this kind, it doesn't suit so well. At least for my taste. Bring on the bagpipes! :D

    A new experiment.

Thanks, buddy! Those words just inspires me to do better things. I'm kicking myself for the horns, but there's not much I can do other than a real ensemble. Take care, my friend. :)
