How come we don't see more low pass filters..?

In live sound most high powered rigs use an aux sub setup only sending bass instruments to the subs to save power therefor eliminating the need to add a filter on every other channel, which is most, and saving the power for the subs in that manner. Mud and rumble are a bigger issue then too...

Is it necessary to double track your guitar if you're micing your amp?

Rather than quad tracking I usually track something higher up that fits the song, it really brings out new dimension sometimes, then you can have all kinds of fun with EQ and effects on the second or third guitar part and bury it in the mix so you can't really hear it. It just adds something...

    Picking nearfields with no experience

I have the a7x and I love them but I have to say the money I spent on treatment about a grand made the biggest difference in my sound over any other piece of gear. These guys aren't just being you about treatment.

DSP Audio interface vs same model but NO DSP!

Having dap is very nice it means you can have your band or clients practice without even opening your daw I'd say it's worth it if only for tracking make sure nothing you do prints to your daw.

Equipment for recording many channels simultaneously and having enough outputs?

Just get an interface with 8 inputs and make sure it has adat inputs then get an 8 ch preamp and hook up light pipe adat then boom you've got 16 channels. I just got a digimax d8 for $300 to add to my 1818 works perfectly.

Anyone use on of these to mount a mic in a bass drum?

My drummer has his dw kit internally miced. It's cool for shows but it's a pain for recording and I don't really like the sound recorded.

    what order do you mix?

I start with dr levels on the most important part of whatever the song calls for if the dynamics are all over the place I work on dynamics. If different parts of tracks are at different levels I mult the section for better level control Basically I get the levels correct first then add eq...

    SM57 vs. Audix I5

Finding the answer to this will entail using both mics on the sources you wish to use it for and doing some critical listening on both otherwise I'd say either will be fine as they are similar in usefulness and if you never hear the other then you'll never know the difference.

    studio equipement

Yeah good luck with 20-30k. You can have fun but as far as being "professional" I doubt it would get you everything you need, let alone the talent and practice needed to record and mix properly and well enough to get clients in the door and develop a reputation. I this day and age recording...

WHich mic is being used in this video?

It must be super cold in that studio I guess they didn't insulate for warmth just for sound. Note the winter cap.

    Question about volume level

You can put a compressor.limiter on the master to hear an idea of what it will sound like as you may want to adjust the attack release times of your drums to suit global compression.
