Post your songs that use MIDI please...

This cover of Coldplay is the first time I used midi. I don't even play keyboards. The song has a lot of synths. http://users.skynet.be/fa260404/Koen/clock.mp3 I wish I could do vocals with midi too :D!

    importing wav.'s into Cubase.

I found it; it was the 'play in background' option that needed to be turned off. Anyways it doesn't matter cause my computer crashed bigtime yesterday :(. After rebooting the system told me formatting was the only option! I'm taking it to the repairman later today and I'm sooo hoping he can...

    importing wav.'s into Cubase.

Oops,... it seems I forgot a few things and I got some others wrong. First of, I'm in VST. Second, it's not that Cubase cannot find the file anymore like I said, but I just can't export the wav. out of Cubase with the same name cuz then I get a message saying that 'that file is all ready in...

    importing wav.'s into Cubase.

I usually make my drums in Fruity Loop, then export them to a wav.-file and open that wav.-file in Cubase, where I can cut and paste everything into place. Most of the times I'd like to make small changes to the drums after I've recorded some of the other instruments, so I open Fruity Loops...

From what I hear pop shields are made of two or three layers of the exact same fabric your girlfriend is wearing.

Try clicking on the m untill it disappears. Make sure the solo button (top left) is not lit. Move the recording to an other channel. I hope this helps..

    cant manage to synchronize

Let me get this straight.. what is it exactly that falls short? Is the drumtrack a wav.-file exported from FL or is it midi? You're gonna have to be a little more specific about the exact problem.

    instructional video/dvd's

Re: i kno i kno........... So there are two types of music; hip-hop and regular music? The people on this board make all kinds and styles of music, hip-hop included. I suggest you just start in the beginning and ask questions along the way. You'll get there eventually :). btw, you put a...

    cant manage to synchronize

I'm thinking latency problems. Is the bass in sync while you are playing it? Do you play along with the drumtrack or with the metronome?

    Coldplay cover - Take 2

CanopuS - I'm trying to get a friend of mine to sing the harmonie part. I think that would sound better indeed. I'm not sure what you mean by 'reverb on the keyboard. Since it's midi I don't even know ho to put reverb on it. Thanks for your comments. DJL -Thanks for listening, man. A reel...

    free vst instruments?

So far I'm using mda piano, triangle, jx16 as vsti's. I found them all online, they are all free and very good IMO. Now I know there can be found a lot of these free vsti's, but I bet half of them are crap, so does anyone know wich free vsti's are worth installing? I found these 2 sites...

    questions

Well that totally depends of the number of tracks, i.e. different instruments, vocals (maestro_dmc just explained what is meant by tracks very clearly) the song consists of. It also depends on the bitrate at wich you record. Also stereo tracks take up more space than monos. If disk space is an...

    Coldplay cover - Take 2

Umm.. I recorded the vocals through a cheap Sennheiser e825s mic, which runs through my V-amp 2 to my soundcard. I hope this is what you mean by signal chain..

    ALL Aboard!!!! Ozzy cover

After reading the "Weird Al" comments I was expecting a lot worse from the singer. I think he does an exellent job. Oh yeah, let me be the first to mention how great those guitars sound. Nice work on that solo.

    Coldplay cover - Take 2

Guernica - Thanks man! This is the first time anyone has ever given me any stars, woohoo! Pedullist - I will be retracking those falsetto parts, they're bothering me too. Also the "..home, where I wanted to go.."part needs to be done all over. I don't know what you're talking about when you say...

    Coldplay cover - Take 2

Thank you all for listening and commenting. I'll be posting an improved version here next week. GT - Thanks! It ìs a great tune. Shackrock - The original has a lot of reverb on the vox too. However I took all the reverb away from the second voice so now the harmonies will sound way better...

    Coldplay cover - Take 2

I've posted my cover of Coldplay's clock in the clinic about six months ago and most of the comments I got were about the vocals. So I did them all over, mixed the whole thing again and I'm really happy with the result. I'm curious about you guy's opinions. Do I still sound so Jamal-isch?:)...

    questions

That's right. However you do not need stereo tracks for guitar, bass or vocals IMO. Unless your preamp sends an effect along that needs stereo (for instance left-right echo). Otherwise there won't be any difference between a mono or a stereo recording. You can still pan the track to either side...
