Here you can find some good drumsamples:

I'd reconsider using Fruity Loops though. It is widely used to create the drumtracks and probably way better then Leafdrums, which I never heard of.
Good luck.
I never used so many channels so I had a hard time mixing this one. I'm happy with the way it turned out however. Any comments especially on the mix are greatly appreciated.

Well I bought a bass a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to get a Yamaha RBX270 cause a lot of people here recommend it, but the none of the guitarshops around had one in stock.
So I ended up trying a Peavey Dyna Bass, in the same price range and I liked immediately.
I've played a Fender Squier...
Can you still hear the audio you are recording?
Check the mute-column, the column to the left of the audio tracks that says 'm'. Make sure your tracks are not muted. Also make sure you didn't push the solo button, on the upper left corner.
What did you change in the audio setup?
Cubase does not include any drumtracks. You can make your own drumstracks using midi or software like Fruity Loops or hardware drummachines.
You could also use drumloops which you can buy or download, and then import them to Cubase. I think this will limit your creativity however.. Make sure...
For that price you're better of bying a midi-controller. Look into the Roland controllers. They have velocity respons/aftertouch and all that, but most importantly IMO, they have keys that have the same width as real piano keys.
Look for something like this (it seems as though this one can't be...
They cost even more then the yamaha's MP5's or the Event's TR-5's.
I guess I'm gonna have to listen to them all and then decide..
Thanks all for the help.
I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed if you got Cubase SX for intergrated midi sequencing and audio tracks. I can't come up with any advantages but there sure aren't any shortcomings...
That IS the way it is.
I see what you mean. In order to work with the wet file you'll have to export it and import it again. You could also work with an external editor like Wavelabs for instance. When you doubleclick on a track in Cubase, it will open in this externar editor. If you use an...
The cheapest monitors I've come across so far; Nady sm-250a active monitors. I know I'll have to check them out at the store with a cd I know really well and then compare them to better monitors, but still, I never had real monitors so I'm not sure what to look for.
Do these specs mean anything...
When you record a track in Cubase you’re creating a wav-file on your HD. You can then put an insert or send effect on it in Cubase and you will hear the effect when you play the wav-file back in Cubase. However this wav-file is not changed. It doesn’t matter wheter you have the effects on when...
I can only tell you the way it's done in Cubase, but I guess there wouldn't be much difference in any other sequencer.
Once you have Cubase installed, there will be a folder called 'VST plugins'. Install the sound module here. You can download some good ones from the net for free btw. Then in...
Somewhere in the menu - I believe it's under- 'modules', click on "show transport bar". If it already says "hide transport bar", just click on it twice.
I guess those computer speakers would be better then headphones, but not a lot...! A decent set of headphones might very well deliver better mixes then computer speakers...
If you don't have enough money to buy monitors you're better of monitoring/mixing through a home stereo system imo.
Bonne...
Keep in mind that general midi sounds like crap. It will usually sound like it is coming from a gameboy imo. :D
What's the sense of general midi anyway?
