    home recording band?

Can I be the manager that takes 90% of the profit? I have hours of samples from TV and I can skat, as well. As far as lyrics: How about writing something about when it's dark and you're looking at something that glows in the dark, you can't really see it, but if you look away and see it out...

download my band's entire album online and tell me what you think

Thanks for offering the whole album, that's pretty cool to do. I listened to some singles, but it wasn't my thing. It seems well done though and you're certainly above the average we all hear everyday. It does sound like a "less whiney Billy Corgan". It is an original sound, too, within that...

    Rough Song Sketch (Metal)

Nice mixing. Cool tones and riffs. Yeah, that lead mixed to the right side could be louder, and the center lead at around the 2:00 mark. Song starts off strong, but gets a little less interesting during the middle.

28 songs - all roughly 1min or under

I enjoyed the two songs of the Duck album. Was this really done with home recording? The quality is very clean and mixed really well. Pardon my prejudice stereotyping, but this reminds me of that new genre we've had to sit through the past couple years that all sounds alike, like The Strokes...

    Forever Condemned-Metal track

I just checked out a song from the drummer's band. He's insanely good.

    Forever Condemned-Metal track

Really, really well mixed. I bet the wav. format sounds really excellant. Nothing really to critcize here. The rythm guitar is a bit thin, but it's good. The drummer is really good, too.

the 20th Ky band I've posted now... depressed acoustic rock, check it out

I agree the bass should be louder. It would really help the chorus. I like it.

28 songs - all roughly 1min or under

You, sir, will be added to my signature of noteworthy/exceptional music I have found in this forum here. I haven't been looking lately. I'm trying to expand my musical tastes, and this sounds interesting. Just the mixing alone, is refreshing in that it is full and of good quality. Thanks for...

Boring, droning, jazzy first verse of a post-rock song

this is pretty cool. i like it better than the previous one. looking forward to hearing finished versions. the drumming is good, too, in my opinion. good production. you got an ear for balancing things.

    Critque Please

Bad ass guitar, indeed! Great to hear. I'm not a big fan of glamrock or gratuitous guitar solos, but this is just plain good shit. I think the sound could be better. Maybe a bit "boxy" as said. But that's always the case. It'd be a shame not to get the best recording possible of this...

Yet another unfinished song (this time, not metal!)

I like the mixing alot. The guitar tones go together quite well. I like the drums, but it might sound better with a more full snare. As far as creatively, I know it's hard to make an interesting instrumental track. The song loses your attention a little bit at :44 secs. when it changes...

    Recording My Handsome Nell

If any of you forum visitors are on dialup or worried about downloading a song that isn't very good, take my word that this is a good song. Give it a shot. Or check out some of the more alternative/metal songs in my signature. I still like this song, though. It's held up. (OK, no more...

    Metalcore!

I really like this. Creative and flows well. Personally, I was never a fan of that particular vocal effect (monster resemblant echo) if ya know what I mean. However, it isn't used that much, and it's less boring than in other songs' uses of it. But I think the vocals are cool enough anyway...

    Loose Screws (Tight Ass)

This is great. I'm gonna add it to my signature. It sounds more like a sample of a whole album's worth of songs. I don't try to understand it, but it's still cool. I'll check out some of the other songs. Badd ass outro, too, for one take!

were you nervous your first time?

Groovy stuff. I think it accomplishes its goal. Well done. You should make some of the other songs downloadable.

OK, used some of the advice given...

Really cool. I like the mixing and audio levels and that's what this is about, right? No real opinions. Guitar solos sound a bit loud to me. (I listened to the first link) Not my kind of song, but I can recognize great production and originality. I'm sure I'm missing alot of the textures...

Need comments on vocal mix (Metal)

Yeah, I think maybe the chorus vocals could be thinned a little - just because the music is so cool. One thing I feel, is that it shouldn't fade out at the end. Just finish those bars at normal level. I really don't know what to say about this. Some of the vocal melodies at the beginning are...

    Tool acoustic cover

Well, being a fan of music, naturally, I regard TOOL as one of the greatest bands of all time. In my opinion, the only time to cover a song is if you can make it better or dramatically different and still of comparable quality. I almost didn't want to listen to this because I didn't want to...

    do your ears ring 24-7?

That really sucks. I get bitter when I catch a cold from someone. You are noble for your forgiveness.

    looking for feedback...

Definately some awesome guitar stuff going on here. I like the distorted guitar after the second chorus. That gets overused in some songs, but well done here. I really like this. It'd be hard for me to really comment on it unless we were in the same room listening to it. I just imagine...
