instrumental song - good honest criticism needed

http://www.geocities.com/lurganliar/sevensisters.mp3 I tried both. When you go there, it says "page unavailable." If you "save as", it will complete very quickly and not play. I don't know.

Sammy Barker - Acoustic / Christian / Emo - Demo Track

Well, you seem to have a decent voice, but it does seem you get too close to the mic. It also sounds like you have a cold or something, with a bit of a nose singing style . . . I don't know. Maybe sing louder from further away would help, as mentioned earlier. The obvious criticism is that...

Strange problem with the left side of the audio.

I notice some slight distortion on louder areas of a sound, but only on the LEFT side of the stereo mix. So I try copying the RIGHT side to the LEFT and there it is again. I don't think it's my headphones. I think it's something with CoolPro. I guess all I can ask if anyone understands this...

    CD burner software advice

I'm getting shitty results with Nero and other software burners. Nero doesn't specify too many options, like what the sample rate is. I assumed they'd just leave it alone. I didn't select the "normalize" option. I have tracks that are in 48000 khz and 44100 khz (16 bit) and they all sound...

    Audio Spilling Spill compander

You will need an excalibur to attack the high frequencies in order to capture the dynamic essense of the sample. Usually around the 4th plane of order, the excalibur will need to be left behind in preference of a mightier tool. Few of us have returned from the 4th plane. It is up to you...

A bit of EQing help please

Damn Canada and their government funding of music and film. We're lucky to get "dirty" music in our Wal-Marts!

    More unfinished post-rock crap

Great songwriting. I take it you were using the bass-like guitars on the sides of the mix in place of an actual bass guitar, I think they may be just a bit too loud with this mix. What about a bass line? There may not be room, I don't know. I think you're too hard on yourself about the...

The triumphant return of The Nells

This is the first time I got to hear "Lay Down My Love." It was cool to hear a harmonica in your guys' soundscape and the bass was well done, too. I like all of your songs. I'll probably continue to listen to them for years to come.

The triumphant return of The Nells

It's a good line, fuck it. I do like this song quite a bit, but probably not as much as the other 3 I've downloaded - not as much polish or drive. I like the bass line and how you took some chances vocally, but I would agree you could scale back the reverb at the beginning some. Thanks for...

Keyboard Epic, a completely different thing than i'd normally do

sorry, I couldn't listen to the whole thing. those keyboard textures/tones just can not sound good no matter how you play them.

    New track - decent mix?

yeah, I think the vocals do sound better. I don't really like the samples, though, personally. the song's charm is it's straightforwardness, so . . .

    New track - decent mix?

I like the percussion for an unexplainable reason. I enjoy good drum fills and solos, but I hate generic forumlaic drumming. This song doesn't need strong drumming so I like how you use drums as a place holder, but also do just enough creatively to make them stand out; almost like The White...

Since people seem to be posting weird stuff

I listened to track 02 a few days ago and again just now. I like the intro - the music basically, for the whole song. Very nice and creative. It keeps the song interesting for the somewhat unchanging song structure. Nicely done.

    It's really great.

    Alternativish, I Guess!

Really good work, man. The guitar part is so catchy and your singing is just right that this song doesn't need a lot of segments to it. However, looking into the "music production for Dummies" book in my head, I would offer that the last choruses segment should have something added, like maybe a...

    one of my home demos...

Poster of the month! Heh heh. I like this song, too. I also like the drumming for the reason that it doesn't try to stand out, but has enough of a creative twist to be interesting (if that makes sense). You've got a great sense of mixing volume, spaces, etc. Kind of an early Radio Head feel...

    Theme tunes....

This is David Lynch and I'm suing you . . . Just kidding. I loved that, man. I never actually heard the original, but that was really, really great. I'd add it to my list of great music in my signature if anyone actually gave a shit about that, but . . . anyway, great song. Do you have...
