    Alesis SR 16

Does that mean you have to keep your foot on it the whole time to keep it playing? Or do you click it once to turn it on and once to turn it off?

Wow, Thanks for the input, I was afraid of that. Is it me or do you find the tracks provided a bit limited?

    Alesis SR 16

Hello to all, I have a Alesis SR 16, it is a very cool machine but I have two questions. Can anyone recommend a good footswitch for it? I have an old reverb switch that works with it but you have to click it twice. Also, I am interested in building my own drum tracks, any good resources that...

    My 2488 Experiences So Far

Sloom, Yes, you can adjust the faders during the "Pre mix". I tried it and it works like a charm!

Zaphod, Back to the faders, those changes will be recorded during the premastering process correct? That is SOOO cool! Have you had much experience with MIDI? I am interested but don't know much about it, any good info you have or websites would be greatly appreciated! Fenderdude

    My 2488 Experiences So Far

Zaphod, Disregard that last message, I was able to figure out the Autoroll/autopunch, what a cool feature! I put in a couple of punches and it was just seamless! I do have one question though. During the course of a song, is it possible to bring one track to a crescendo? For example, say you...

    My 2488 Experiences So Far

Zaphod, Thanks for the panning tips, they worked like a charm! For the autoroll feature, if I understand this correctly, you find the spot that needs correcting, set in and out points, then what? Please walk me through it if you don't mind. Thanks! Fenderdude

    My 2488 Experiences So Far

I saw that there is a tutorial DVD that one can purchase. I saw some of the clips and they looked very helpful. Have you used this?

Zaphod, Thanks, another question, do you ever use a footswitch for the punchin feature? If so, what kind of footswitch are you using? Thanks Fenderdude

    My 2488 Experiences So Far

Zaphod said: I recently purchased a 2488 also. When you say you lay down two acoustic tracks, two stereo electric etc. Do you actually play (re perform) each track? Or are you copying a track and pasting it on another channel? Also, I have worked on a couple of songs and was wondering about...

    Fender 4208 mixer

Well, I ordered a manual from Fender for the mixer, I tried it out the other day with my band and it sounded pretty good. My drummers headset was acting a bit strange when he hooked it up. Maybe the user's guide will give me a clue.

    Fender 4208 mixer

I just got one of those from a friend, haven't used it yet, do you have a user's manual for it? Or do you know where I can get one? Also, you need a power amp for those right? :)

3 Piece Band and Home Recording

I've heard good things about the Tascam 2488, we have a pretty good practice area, it's carpeted and room is'nt really an issue. The acoustics are pretty good as well. I also have a "music" room at my home, I'm looking that something that will be versatile and allow me to do my own stuff at...

3 Piece Band and Home Recording

I'm in a 3-piece band, we have a couple of original tunes and I want to start getting into home recording. I have an old Fostex 4 track recorder. I would like to go digital. My question is this, is it better to go with a unit like the Tascam 2488, or with software like Cakewalk or Protools? I...
