Try and figure out what they are trying to do, and go with that. Ride the fader or compress the drums with the whole mix up untill they at least sort of sound right. Keep the shit tone on the guitar. If it's too harsh when he's playing by himself, a little reverb might smooth things out...

Clip your nails. If they hang over your finger tips even a little bit, things can still get clicky. If that doesn't work, it's probably the strings hitting the frets. Try plucking more vertically, if that makes sense. Also, make sure your fretting hand isn't banging the strings down too hard...

I don't know why that would be louder just because of an export unless Cubase is normalizing the audio. If you reimport the exported track back into Cubase is it louder there too? Is there a problem just turning down the faders in Audition?

I've heard a Warlock through a JCM2000 TSL. It's the only combo I've heard where Master of Puppets sound right with just one guitar player. I don't remember the model of the guitar though, just that it was a warlock. A strat fitted with seymour duncan humbuckers sounds really good too...

I'd think of it as being in Am with accidentals on the E major chord. But that might just be me. Notes of Am = A, E, C Notes of G = G, B, D Notes of F = F, A, C Notes of E = E, B, G# The scale you'd be playing on for the most part would be A, B, C, D, E, F, G, G#, I'd say the key is Am.

Oh and if you're only going with one mic, I'd get a dedicated preamp and maybe a DI for the Line6. The DI may not be nessicary though. If you're recording through your sound card, monitor through that.

Not through a Behringer. It's the preamp on the mixers that will make your guitar sound better. I'd go with a Yamaha GS over the beheringer. Still not the best mixer in the world though.

Wiring Diagram for the SM7 is on page 2. This is a manual for replacing the cartridge. I've never done this and I don't know the SM7, but this is what I would look at. The best thing to do though, is have a pro do the rewiring.
