Looking for guitar mutli fx - NOT amp modelers

I third the Boss GT-6, although I'd recommend quality over quantity. If this is for recording, the GT-6 will be great. For live, I'd reoommend Electro Harmonix pedals (expensive, but amazing). It is the chorus effect in Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit

    Beginning guitar lessons

Teach her some basic chords (C, G, etc.), then when her finger dexterity develops, teach her the 3 major bar chords that you can use all over the neck (major, minor, dominant 7th). Then she can improvise, and write her own songs. I definitely agree with her learning songs from her favorite...

How's about we play a little GAME!

I just pulled a quick improvisation. i don't know how you did the high quality mp3 link, but here's my incredibly low quality and short clip. Sadly, it's the best I can do with this site's limit on filesize. Took a lot out of the tone, but oh well.

How Do You Record/Reproduce Good Reggae Bass Sound?

Wherever pickup you play closest to, turn up, and the other pickup down. Turn your treble down, reggae has very bassy bass tones. P.S. definitely compress it, but other then that, little or no effects.

    DVD Instructional Videos

Shred is not Dead by Terry Sydek I studied with him at national guitar workshop, and he's an even better teacher then a player. You can get the book with dvd at guitar centers, and it's an amazing book. Trust me, get it. Runner up is Paul Gilbert's Terrifying Guitar Trip (and i've seen...

    What picking technique is this?

Rolling is very different then alternate picking. It is easier, he isn't alternate picking like Yngwie, instead he is rolling. Basically rolling your hand so that all of the fingers pick. He's doing the same movement all over the neck.

Anyone Ever Used Musicians Friend For A Guitar Purch.?

I second everything he said. Guitars, like tube amps, are all different. Play the guitar, don't just order it. That's my opinion.

    What picking technique is this?

One thing you need to realize though, although they are awesome, is that they are pretty much rolling the same shape in different areas of the neck. At least that's what my ears tell me.

    What picking technique is this?

I honestly think that Paul Gilbert has the best picking technique out there. If that's hurting you, definitely see a doctor.

    new to electric, suggestions please

look at your favorite indie bands, and see what setups you like the sound of. That will give you an idea. For budget, I'd go with a telecaster, gibson's are overpriced, but still very good. For an overdrive pedal, DEFINITELY go with a Fulltone. They are expensive, but incredible.

Gibson or Fender sounds like the type of guitar you would like. Perfect for all around, legendary indie/rock guitars.

    Strings & GIDGE apology

I can't stand anything but DR's and Boomers GHS Boomers is pretty much what I use. Usually 9-46, but sometimes 10's. DR strings sound totally awsome, but don't feel to me as good as GHS Boomers do, plus Boomers also sound very nice, and thick.

    What picking technique is this?

It's also possible that you are talking about chicken picking err Chickn' Pickn' Bluegrass style, Zakk Wylde does it. A cool little technique. Try this Play the 7th fret on the g string then the 9th fret on the g string, then the 7th fret on the b string Do this by picking down, then...

I actually think that whoever mixes Nickleback does a great job, but I think otherwise about Metallica. I understand what you're saying about the similar sounds. How did you pan everything? Why? sorry I'm not a very experienced home recorder
