    How to lower cpu usage?

In fact you'll have just one backup that you'd make after the midi is ready. Then you work with audio only and in case you need to change your midi, just copy and paste the track from the backup and after the change you copy/paste to the backup file. But I do agree that Qwerty's idea is great...

Help me !!! Error message !!!

If you're using a SB Live card, go to the control panel and open it's settings. There you'll find and option where you set how much memory soundfonts can use. Raising this value should do the work. ;)

If you don't want to delete them, you may Save As your project for backup, and then remove them from the original file.

Englebert, try using Sonic Implants soundfonts. They sound very bright and clean, and its power is enough for me tough. It's worth to give a try. ;)

Try using Nero, just like James said. Something very similar happened to me, and Nero could get the data back.

    Problems w/ soundfonts patches

Yes, I'm using SB Live Platinum. But I don't think the problem is related to the drivers, because the I/O devices are working fine if I select the patch from the right-click window. Anyway, I'll check them when I get home. I'll try LiveSynth if the re-install doesn't work. Thanks for the tip! :)

If the message says the file is corrupted you can't open it. Discard the file and generate a new zip.

    Problems w/ soundfonts patches

Thanks so much dachay! DirectX 9 should have been installed when I last run Windows Update. I'll use this utility to re-install Sonar, this should solve the problem to select sf patches. Just one more question: re-installing Sonar will not erase my wave data folder, will it?

After that, I have two problems: 1) After loading a soundfont and selecting the output device and bank, I can't select the soundfont patch. The drop-down just don't work if I click on it. If I right-click...
