    Embarassing Newbie MIDI question

For the SB Live and Audigy, did you checked your mixer on Audio HQ? Take a look there and see if the MIDI input is enabled, its volume and then select it as your recording device. PS: I suppose you've already checked your cables (In/Out), right? BShark

    Hey moskus...

Checking ... I played the original vs our version, and the chord structure seems to be not ok. I tried to do the mix and I had a difficult time to get the 1st solo to sound good, and when I played the original song with the cover, the chords are a bit different. Didn't have time to get the...

    Newbie! Looking for Software suggestions

Soundblaster 16? You should first buy another card (at least an Audigy, since it's a hobby), then the software. I think that's the first setp, cuz you won't do much with the card you have, no matter the software. I suggest you stick to Cakewalk. Don't know what you play, but you'll need to use...

so whats the big deal about midi anyway?

Plus, if you have band you'll problably record real drums, but if you're a home musician with small budget and not much space in your room like many of us, you'll see how useful MIDI is for drum recording (and all the stuff mentioned above).
