Yes, cakewalk will save your files in .wav or .mp3.
You just have to create a new audio track and record what playing on your midi tracks.
I don't now CEP, but maybe you can do the same with it.

Hmmm.. you can't add envelopes to tracks other than track 1? That's weird... :confused:
How are you trying to add these envelopes? You should just right-click the track and select Add Envelope.
Do you get any error messages?
Well, if you're looking for some "Hello world" examples you definetely will find it on those books. Anyway, you can always get some answers here and in the Newbies forum.

You should ask this question to CEP's support. It's safer to get their orientation than just going into the reg and change something you're not sure (even more if you have those sessions you've mentioned). If you trash something on your PC you'll be like...
