No, I have no problems with the the unbalanced inputs. The runs to the patch-board are only a couple of feet. I use the XLR pres as balanced line inputs from my board, so I can't really say what their like as microphone inputs, but in the way I use them their fine. The setup as a whole does not...

I have a 1010LT which I mostly love. I do, however wish I would have bought the 1010. My reasons are simple logistics. The LT is a very cramped area (for my setup), even though it goes directly to a patch-bay. In retrospect the 1010 would be much easier to work with.

+1 on the Seagate -w- 16mb especially with Firewire interface- very sweet setup. :)

I feel 8mb is much better as a HD buffer. A 2mb buffer also usually indicates a very inexpensive drive which is another count against it.

Almost any Mac Compatible USB or Firewire interface should work- check with the vender to determine if there are any issues with the Intel architecture. And yes iTunes will convert song files to mp3 ar wave. There are many other ways to do it also.
