    Rammstein sound

I think it gives them way more control with what is picked up by the microphone, no interference or anything like that. It would also probably give better bass since its in an elcosed cab. I could be wrong, maybe ill try and find that article.

    Rammstein sound

Metallica has an enclosed cabinet and microphone assembly behind the stage that goes to the PA when they do shows, they don't actually mic the stage cabs. That is how they get a real nice live sound.... of course, I don't know how plausible this is for anyone else.

    New Pickup

... You should check out the DiMarzio Evolution pickups, I play heaviers stuff and I have em in my Yamaha and my Samick.... would never replace em, and they cost less than most. Also, if you're good with a soldering iron you might wanna put in a phase switch or a series/parralell switch. The...

DOD Death Metal (sometimes) and the BOSS MT-2. I don't own the MT-2 yet, but I've spent tons of time with it.

Best Mic for Fender Strat recording?

Hey, John Christ (I think that's his name) did it on Danzig's IV CD. No amp, no nuthin, just a mic in front of his electric guitar.

    hearing protection

Oh god.. I hate ear plugs, but I love being able to hear after a practice. I dont mind the muffled sound, I just can't get into it and I get tired cuz there's no energy in whats coming through my plugs.

    Effects pedal - getting feedback

Dude, the Death Metal is a feedback crazed beast. Learn to use your guitars volume to control it, or put a volume pedal IN FRONT of the dist pedal. This beast can be controlled. Trust me, I've been using it for a while and my amp has roughly twice the output of the Bandit. Just takes some...

    damn floyd....

I got a guitar with a floyd and i love it, ive got it under control and everything, i was just wondering if there is any product out there that will let me get a little more sustain out of it. I thought i remembered hearing about replacement saddles that help, but i can't remember too much...

    EFFECTS help me out

What is it you are going to be doing? playing live or recording? The Line 6 POD, Johnston J-Station, and Yamaha DG-Stomp are all good for recording. I hear the Yamaha can be used easily live but i dont have it so i dont know... i use POD to record. As for live? digitech makes nice stuff...

    Monitor Amp

Its actually better to use an amp that is more powerfull than the speakers they are driving. This is because when an amp get cranked you start to get power amp clipping and that is usually the cause of speaker damage. Try the search button at the top right of this screen, I'm sure you will be...

    monitor stands.

Not to bash the low-tech solution, but if im buying $500 monitors im not gonna sit them on keyboard stands with a board across. Speaker stands are a very integral part of the sound coming out of the speakers so they are worth the $100 or more a piece.

    Anyone usin a MESA V-Twin or V-1?

I've already cut an album with my POD and I like its sound. I hardly ever use the effects, good clean sounds are tough to get, and its not very usefull live (considering the price of a footpedal for it) so I was wondering if it would be worth it to sell POD to get a V-1 or a V-Twin. All the...

    Recording Through a Line6 Flextone's Direct Out

Just don't put your vocals through the speaker, if you do it too often it will tear it apart.... trust me :)

    track bleed

Check to make sure that you aren't recording from the wav playback. if you do then it not only records from the line input but it also records everything that is being played.

    Guitars

I COULD do a setup on a brand new guitar... or I COULD buy one that was set up well out of the box. My experience shows that some guitars cannot be set up well, so I buy ones that are set up nice and don't have a buzz in the low E.

    Guitars

Turtle.. don't feel alone! I really don't like the Ibanez guits either. I was a huge Yamaha fan for the longest time because their low end guitars were still made well, until i played a new one!! The low E was buzy, the whammy wouldn't stay in tune, and the switches sucked..... why is buying a...
