    Recorded my first ska band...

Greggles I love how snappy you can be sometimes. BUT ANYWAY, I'm just going to agree that it needs a little more in the highs, but also, as greggles said, it's hard to tell from myspace's compression bullshit.

    Electro/Pop/Rock/Whatever

haha the lead synth is actually an ooooold casio tonebank keyboard that we fell in love with. our vocallist was playing around on it and came up with a part of that and we wrote around it. I'll see what I can do, though. Any suggestions?

    Cheap, But Quality Double Pedal

ALSO, once you get some of your rudiments down, try applying them to your hands, using the opposite hand and foot. it'll improve your coordination like you wouldn't believe!

    Cheap, But Quality Double Pedal

any double at that price isn't going to be an upgrade. you can't go fast because you haven't developed it. you won't be automatically fast. Grab a book of snare rudiments, apply it to your feet daily playing with a metronome for 45 minutes-an hour. ONLY GO AS FAST AS YOU CAN HANDLE for 2-3...

    Hard Rock/Punk Recording

love it. the vocallist is spot-on for the style, but i agree with lowering it down a bit. i for one think the cymbals : hihat ratio is alright, but not as good as it could be. the gang vocals need to come up a bit too in my opinion. As the big cheese said, the toms could come up too.

    Need opinion on drum sound

Thank you very much drossfile, you cocky bastard you. I've tried the recorder man, on a smaller 4 piece kit. I've found on the big kit the right mic tends to get in the way when i want to go after that china. I'll have to experiment a bit more with it.

    Need opinion on drum sound

This is actually a youtube video, but i need some opinions on the drum sound. It's just 2 MXL 603's, and an Audix D6. I'm trying to figure out if there's anything i can do to bring out the toms a little more in future recordings with this setup, because i don't yet have all the equipment i need...
