Looks for vintage stuff. I picked up a lafayette (same model as some older univox) 12watts or so I picked up for less than $150 that always makes people who hear it ask me what is up. Replaced the old speaker and it has a great early breakup for a fat raw sound. I pair that with a fender blues...
i have a standard MIJ strat from the same era (mine is 87 I think) and it is a great guitar. I've played many a USA strat, and i have never felt like mine did notr measure up to those.
I ended up refinishing mine to natural, and switching out the pickups for Bill Lawrence's, and it sounds great...
I picked up one of these used for $350, but the power supply is trashed. I plugged in mine from another keyboard and it works fine. I read some stuff on the net about how the true supply is a slightly different voltage.
ANy chance that i will hurt the keyboard from using the other power...
Side question here.
I unstrung the guitar, replaced the pickups at first with all the old components in place, and tried to test the pickups with and amp and got horrible hum, that went away when i touched ANY of the electronics.
I freaked out and figured somehting was not grounded, bad...
I have an old es 335 knock off, and it looks and plays great, but sounds like kaka.
I picked up a set of classic 57 pickups and decided i would replace the pickups, and now i am thinking i might go ahead and replace all the electronics, what is in the is 30 years old and the wiring/soldering...
Something kind of wierd and new just started happening. My first two inputs seem to always be on. Say a mic goes into a preamp, then into input one or two. I can hear input 1 in the right channel, 2 in the left. No software open, just windows desktop.
When i open cubase, it records normally...
I have a pair of Warfedale diamond 8.1 actives, sell for $145 shipped to lower 48 if you want.
monitors are in great shape, but the plastic frame thing with cloth that cover the speakers have gone missing.

5 piece for sale locally for $600 used, what do you think? How do these compare to other maple sets in that used) price range.
i really shouldn't spend the money, but if it were really worth it, i would consider it.
THanks,

There is a lot of overlap. Let's break it down even farther. I'll define a foew components and some general minimum requirements (well, my opinions anyway).
A/D, D/A Converter. Takes analog signal you want to record and converts to digital to store on the computer. make sure you can do 24 bit...
OK, time to take a step back, if you want to get the best quality recording for the money, you don't start with a mixer.
For home recording, there are a few key components here, the interface being the primary one. If you are using a standard soundcard.
A mixer with analog to digital...
