    My Own Worst Fears

Thanks guys. As far as the guitar string squeaks, I have a problem with that. I use fast fret to try and help, but obviously I need to try a different approach. Any suggestions would be welcome. I played the rhythm really loose intentionally. Was looking for a vibe here. The song definitely has...

new song -- "Speak to Me"

this is way cool. reminds me a bit of Porno for Pyros meets School of Fish. It really rocks. Like the vocals and the bass line. The guitars are really really good. My favorite part of the song. It's got a solid groove. Two thumbs up. Love the indian flare as well.

Final stages of mix - lacking crunch. HELP?!

vocals in the second verse sound better mix wise than the first verse. you should match the first to the second. The distorted guitars are a bit muddy. the lead sounds good though. i like the song alot. I don't see a real need for the sound effects.

telephone wire - an original song written by a friend

Heat, This is the best recording you've done so far, IMHO. Love the guitar sounds/panning. What's are you using for the main acoustic guitars? They sound sooo smooth. Vocals sound great. The lyrics are really cool as well. Love the breakdown. Love it. Man, you can channel Bob Weir too. Bass is...

    The Climb

That's much better. It still pumps in parts a bit, but it's not nearly as distracting. I think the levels sound fine, minus the climax end - they could come up some. There are still some issues with sibilance here and there. When there is that much reverb on the track it really calls out the...

    Inexpensive Preamp/Compressor Strip

There's a ART pro channel locally for $200.00. Those get pretty darn good reviews. I might be down with that.

    Inexpensive Preamp/Compressor Strip

I was looking at the Pro Channel. It does look pretty cool. I'm thinkin' more in the 2-300 dollar range at the hi -end. The propac is intriguing. That one looks very cool too. Just to expensive for me right now. I would probably never use the eq either as I would do my eq in the computer...

    Inexpensive Preamp/Compressor Strip

Hey guys. I can bypass the preamps on my M-Audio solo interface thought the back inputs, and I thought it would be very cool to have an inexpensive option for some different flavors into the computer. Something with color would be great, seeing as how the m-audio solo is very neutral. Like...

    The Climb

As soon as the drums come in...right at "Always gonna be..." the vocals start breathing heavy, going back and forth, and pumping. The whole thing sounds squashed. There's a lot of sibilance on the new mix. There's no dynamics in the song, because of the mix. Autotune has been toned down, which...

    O Holy Night

I disagree. The performance is nice, but it's just too blatant to ignore. It's distracting.

    The Climb

I recognized this song, only cause my lil' niece loves Miley Sirus's (Hannah Montana's) version. My two cents. The compression is just killing the dynamics of the vocals. It's "pumping and breathing" way too much! The autotune has gotta go. I think you need to approach the mix again. The whole...

Mix for critique. Rode NT1-A. Hip Hop Track.

This mix sounds pretty good. Vocal sound is a little harsh. Also, the main organ gets a little grating. You should throw in a variation somewhere, give the song a subtle difference to keep the listener interested. It gets pretty boring quick, musically that is, and the track is short, so that's...

Apogee One vs. M-Audio Solo Opinions

Do you guys thing the Apogee One would be a noticeable upgrade from the M-Audio Solo/410? I layer tracks one at a time, so one input is fine. Comments/experience appreciated.

    acoustic tune for critique

you know, this is very good. Your voice is great. Really great. Less is more sometimes, and I think your Zoom does a fine job. Anyway, it's not what you record with, but weather or not the performance is there, and man, it's there. I'm surprised no one has commented yet. Good luck with the B1...

    O Holy Night

You have a very nice voice. Dare I say it? Josh Groban-ish? He's got an great voice, so that's a compliment:) My nit's with the mix is this, the gate on the vocal is set way to fast. You can hear the vocals get sucked down into a worm hole and cut-off when you finish a word, and when you...

LifeLyric's Zoomin'! All My Heart re-do

And that's the most important thing too. At it's best, music is sincere, and this sounds very heart felt and real. Nice job.
