Guess someone posted while i was typing....lol, another program you could look at beside n-trak is Home Studio by Cakewalk http://www.cakewalk.com/ not very expensive..... not 45 dollars either as is n-trak..... but it is a great program....

Steve, if the computer is sending the information to the keyboard then what you need to do is this, run a MIDI cable from the MIDI OUT of the sound card to the MIDI IN on the keyboard.... you need to then run a cable from the AUDIO OUT of the keyboard to the AUDIO IN of the sonud card. You wiil...

I have the same card and I can hear the midi sounds of that card during play back. Are you sure that the MIDI information was recieved? Could you explain how you are setting up...... and then I can give you a better idea of where to start. I would however check the MIDI in and out to be...

Cakewalk Home Studio is an awesome starting point great program affordale.... upgradable to sonar...... can't go wrong... and the cakewalk forum on this board is incredible.... do it dude and you'll never look back.....
Make sure you have a good sound card MAUDIO 2496 or comparible... and know...
Are you using external midi devices or are you using DXi software. Also What kind of a device(s) are you using, keyboard, drum module, what model? Also do you have a MIDI cable interface on your computer? If not then thats the first step when using an external device....... not using the plug...
What I meant was that the 2496 seems to be lacking in connections. The Omni seems to have it all but the MIDI jacks.... though I know this is easily over come.

Like I said before I'm not sure of the best method but why couldn't you run from your 1/4" stereo headphone jack into the mixer using a stereo 1/4 to stereo RCA cable. you can control the output level into the mixer that way as well.... just a thought for now. I know you can use the 1/8...
