I got one, my first L-C mic and I like it so far. I'm a newbie and don't have a lot to compare it too, but at the place where I got it, I tested it against all the mics and it was the best sound per dollar, for my ears and voice anyway.

I would spend the extra $9 and get a 57. Oh, I guess it will be more because of a mount, and if you need the cable. I just know that that the 57 is so versatile, such a workhorse, and so well proven.

There is a firewire 'upgrade' in the near future as well too but would it be worth waiting for that? It doesn't seem that the high transfer speed limits of the newer 1394-b coming is really needed and when is that expected to be out.

don't forget you can bypass the EQ out of the insert (just one click in) and just run a "cleaner" signal out that way.

On Clav, deals This last fall I picked up a mint E-7 at a thrift store for $80. I'm sure it never saw the road or a smokey room. Two weeks later a pionet for $40. That one was through a couple battles but still plays fine.

Would it make sense to pickup a inexpensive mex squire jazz bass ($120)and just replace the pick-ups? if so what would be the best to replace them with? TIA
