If your names going to appear in the credits, BAIL NOW...BAIL FAST...RUN FOREST RUN!!! You think this guy doesn't understand? Wait 'till you have to try to explain to the next potential client that this shitty mix isn't your fault!
Adding a second video card will slow the machine down even more. Not too discourage you, but looking at what you've got, if you start seriously upgrading this box (hard drive, memory, etc.) you'll still be limited by older buss speeds and mother board limitations that you just can't change. I'd...
I'm running 2k also and it NEVER crashes. Works great with one small problem I thought I'd point out. Win 2k has a 10 device limit. That is, if your using something like a MOTU 24i with 24 inputs, your only going to be able to use 20 of them (the 10 device limit is stereo). I've searched the web...
I'll give this a whirl!
I'm not sure what sound card you have, but I don't think the Behringer AES808 is what you need. Most likely the device you saw was some sort of breakout box for a pro sound card like the Delta 1010, Layla, Aardvark Q10, various MOTU, etc. You probably need to think about...
I agree with the others. Don't bastardize the amp. But, if you must do it, at least don't drill any new holes in the faceplate like some I've seen. If you need to install another pot or something, try to use the existing holes like the external speaker jack or whatever so that you can at least...
I agree with Lt. Bob on the stereo thing. I don't like to mix stereo live either for the same reasons. The reason I suggested getting another amp is that I figured you needed at least that much power to do a decent live show, but maybe your doing smaller venues?
Reminds me of an old "trick" I learned live mixing. When the guitar player steps out in front of the PA to play a solo, always turn him up more than what you think is appropriate.
:D :D :D :D
I can get it to patch where the monitor section is working like im describing but the mains aren't in stereo(if i play a cd over it, anything panned hard left doesnt show up (Mains are controlled on right).
That's how it works! I'm afraid you can't have it both ways. The unit only has 2 power...
One thing that I do since I do a lot of fill in work with several bands is use small sticks in small clubs. For instance I'll use 7A's with little combos and 5B's in larger rooms. This seems to help a lot because you don't have to concentrate so hard on playing quieter. Many drummers find this...
Does the headphone amp have balanced ins? You may be using the wrong cord for your application. It won't hurt to use a mono 1/4" cable. Here's some more info that might help.

The first thing I noticed is "great vocals". If that's you singin' you've got a wonderful voice. I did think the drums as a whole could come up in the mix for some more definition. But, as a whole, great job.
Cool stuff. For me personally, I think this would really kick ass if it had somebody bangin' real drums instead of a machine. I think that would give the tune some needed energy. The singer definatetely has it.:D
In general, I like to stay away from any processing while recording a track unless it's necessary. Sometimes you have to do some compression just to get consistent levels, but even then most say it's better to just ride the slider if you can do that. This is not possible if you are the recorder...
The Sonic Foundry Noise Reduction plug in works great FOR CONSTANT NOISE. You must have a part of the track(s) where there is noise only. The plug samples the noise and removes only that noise from the track(s). It seems to have little or no effect on the rest of the track. This will NOT...
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........WOW! Good writing, good performance, good recording, good mix, etc., etc. I too heard Sting and Dave Mathews influences. Also heard a little CSN. The tune overall sets a great mood. Good stuff.:D
