Critique the mix on the guitar demo?

I have some issues with this mix but I want to see if you guys hear the same problems so I will keep quiet for now :). Thank you for your time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hFiXLdQUeE

    Hard rock track - Stand

Over all it is quite good from my amateur perspective! Something feels weird when the drums first come in, hard to put it my finger on it, but I guess it was a shock to my sense of timing and continuity. Good song and vocals.

Piano Pop - Big Harmonies - 100% Sugar Coated

Very cool song! I don't have much experience with this type of music, but reminds me a little bit of the stuff I've heard from the band "Jellyfish". Anyways, lots of great lyrics and chord changes in there. Production is great too.

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - featuring RAMI on vocals!

Excellent! You nailed the guitar tone.

Having a bunch of guitar speaker cabinets in my mix/recording room is bad, right?

Ok pegger, thanks for the responses. I'll feel better about piling all my amps and speaker cabs in my mixing room :).

Having a bunch of speaker cabs in you mix room, is this a bad thing?

Having a bunch of guitar speaker cabinets in my mix/recording room is bad, right?

I'm just guessing this would not be good. The speaker cone would reflect sound as well as the cabinet sides, correct? They would all be together in a "wall" of sorts. Thanks for your thought, Chris "The Mix Noob" Morris

13'x11'x8' room - Big enough to record guitars in?

    Good points guys, thanks.

Guitar demo, what do you think of this mix?

Thanks for your feedback. EZdrummer 2 is quite nice to work with, easier than the drums that came with Ableton Live Suite. Those drums are good too, just not so "mix ready".

An Indian Song, for a change

Sounds great! I agree with a little more bass in the bass comment. Drums sound a little far back in the mix for my taste. I had the volume up, and the first note from that instrument startled me with that quick attack/volume jump. The vocals and strings sound fantastic.

Guitar demo, what do you think of this mix?

Thanks, I used 9s for a very long time but switched to 10s and thicker recently because they sound a little better to me and stay fresh longer. Plus when I want to down tune the strings don't get all floppy :). Only took a couple weeks to get used to them.

Guitar demo, what do you think of this mix?

Thanks man, they are 10s and the action is probably just a little bit higher than an average well set up guitar.

Guitar demo, what do you think of this mix?

So, I tried a new 'trick' on this one. I used a freeware "TP Basslane" plug-in that sums bass frequencies to mono (in this case I summed everything below 157hz). I think the mix turned out alright, but being a noob to mixing in general I know I have a lot to learn. There are some issues with...

    Rate my new funk rock!

I love it man! Seriously has a groove. For my taste, I'm cool with all the reverb and delays but I would make one instrument much less effected for contrast (I'd pick drums, make them almost dry). This is the opinion of a noob though, keep that in mind. Great track.

New track, be interested in feedback

Really cool song and great vibe all around. The only thing that sounded odd to me was the large volume change when it went from low key to more energetic the first time around. Nice work though!

13'x11'x8' room - Big enough to record guitars in?

Also, would it be big enough to mix in?

13'x11'x8' room - Big enough to record guitars in?

Hey there, I am moving into a new house and I was wondering if a room with these dimensions is big enough to record guitars (and get a good sound) in. Thanks, Chris

Looking for feedback on the mix on this Youtube guitar gear demo

Lol! Yes, I can't stand it when a demo starts with anything other than the sound of whatever I am interested in. Well, at least within the first 10 seconds I should be hearing what I came for. I have the attention span of a squirrel though. I actually have not uttered one word in the 35...
